Zeituni Onyango, the aunt of President Obama who fought deportation in a controversial courtroom saga in 2008, has died, her immigration lawyer told the Herald.
Onyango died this morning at a rehabilitation hospital after a lengthy bout with cancer and respiratory ailments, attorney Margaret Wong said.
Shes been ill for quite some time. She didnt like people to know, because she is so strong, said Wong, who kept in touch with Onyango in recent years and called her auntie.
I dont think she accepted she was dying, said Wong. She just kept thinking she needs to go on.
Onyango, a Kenyan national whose illegal-immigrant status came to light during her nephews first presidential bid, was famously defiant in her fight for asylum and insisted she had a right to live in taxpayer-funded housing in South Boston.
Onyangos family is making funeral arrangements, which are being complicated because of her estrangement from her husbands side of the family, Wong said.

No problem. Obama can still count on her vote for years to come.

Well that a big relief from the undeserving welfare role.
Ken Hamblin’s toilet flush is appropriate about now.

Deport the corpse anyway. The thing should not be permitted to be interred in the USA.

Our brave founders must be spinning in their graves. Our thousands of war dead, who fought for the rights and freedoms of AMERICAN CITIZENS... To think that over half our nation can read this sentence and not blink an eye... It is to weep.
