The San Francisco Chamber of Commerce is outraged over a ballot measure to raise San Franciscos minimum wage to $15 an hour, saying in a statement on Monday that it flies in the face of collaboration and partnership.
The measure would lift base pay about 40 percent from its current $10.74, making San Franciscos minimum wage the highest in the country. Activists were expected to file papers on Monday for the November ballot.
The measure, designed by SEIU Local 1021, the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment, and other activist groups, would give companies with fewer than 100 employees until 2017 to raise wages to $15 an hour.

Whats wrong with these morons, why not make it $25.00 an hour and be done with it? This way we know the end game has arrived, and stop the bleeding..
Well it puts workers in a new tax bracket
Intersting that it is spearheaded by the SEIU. I was unaware that any union goons made minimum wage
The Current FReepathon Pays For The Current Quarters Expenses?
“In the long run” will govern. Further, the closer the Indiana merchant is to Illinois the higher his prices. It is like “COSTCO when it first started prices were much lower and now with membership fees and supply/demand their prices are just a few pennies cheaper than a supermarket.
There are union contracts that specify wages as a multiple factor of the min wage. ie Joe SEIU may be paid 2.1 times the min wage. So that factor may be in play here.
The rebirth of the Automat?
Ha ha. Chamber of Commerce indeed. You libs slept with the crocodile, hoping it would eat you last....or, perhaps, not at all.
You screwed up. You trusted them.
Maybe, just maybe, you ought to embrace truth instead of the constantly shifting standards of those who change their morality on the basis of “what is hip”.

Bet they have never started a business or met a payroll in their lives.
Leeches.
Or worked an honest job.
"Enjoy your *BIG ASS FRIES*"
If the measure was "designed" by SEIU, you can bet your bottom dollar (no pun intended) there is a provision to raise all Union pay rates by a like amount, 40%.
Being that it is California, I would suspect that if it is by some chance defeated by the voters, it will still be enacted. Just a rerun of Prop 8. Not sure why they even go through the emotions of putting things on the ballot - such a sham!
Should make the minimum wage $3000/hour. Then the folks can make some real money. /s
They are only outraged that they didn’t propose it first...
SEIU a proud member of Obama&CO.
EXACTLY! The only people who lose here are the employees and soon to be former employees. It is sad, because teenagers who just want a job - any job to pay for their gas, buy a used car, save some money for college or take a girl on a date now have fewer options for work. The whole idea of minimum wage is absurd. I thought the minimum wage was an agreed upon amount between the employer and the employee. You know...choice.
Most union contracts have a clause in them that requires an increase to the union workers' hourly rate each time the minimum wage is increased. SEIU is merely getting SF to vote SEIU a pay raise. Sweet, isn't it?
Same thing in Vermont/New Hampshire. On one side of the Connecticut River there are high taxes, and stringent regulations. On the other side is where all the businesses are. The people of Vermont voted for higher taxes and more regulation. Then they went shopping in New Hampshire.
No, they don't. But the minimum wage is a benchmark and you cannot expect union workers to stand still when the minimum wage rises. They will need an increase too.
