Occupy, Union Activists Organizing Homeless Tent Cities in Honolulu?

Homeless Tent Cities have proven a disaster in Seattle, Portland, Sacramento and other mainland cities where they have been tried. Homelessness Industry organizers set up their tents in an area--and the meth-addled denizens generate a crime wave targeting local businesses and residents as they seek out anything they can steal to buy drugs. Exasperated local officials pay the organizers off in order to get them to move into a different jurisdiction where the cycle of crime and shakedown begins again.

In Honolulu, unofficial tent cities are now set up in strategic locations designed to pressure the tourism industry, the Chinatown community, the Korean community, the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, and the Honolulu Council debate over Housing First.

How were these tent cities established? Just look at the tents.

Occupy Honolulu, Thomas Square, 2012—a location chosen perhaps for its proximity to Honolulu Police Headquarters in an effort to create test cases and affect the legality of policies designed to pressure the homeless to accept shelter. As one set of tents was tagged under Honolulu’s 24 hour warning system, they were removed and replaced with a different set of tents—ones with yellow, green, red, blue or grey trim--so city workers could not seize them--leaving Occupy with lots of matching tents in storage somewhere.

When I lived in Hawaii, I was shocked by the number of 'homeless' people there. Most are drug addicts, mentally ill or alcoholics hanging in the parks near Waikiki. However, there is a large number of 'homeless' who choose to live in tents and make-shift shelters along the beaches. Some work full time. They pay no rent. Others get government assistance and live a pretty decent life style, at taxpayer expense.

That’s one I’d join, depending on how close it is to the beach. Sure beats Fargo, especially in winter.

I have a question. Just what makes these idiots think it is going to be any here in Honolulu?

I can see pressuring the tourist industry, but Chinatown sounds a bit risky, and I can’t see a happy ending for folks trying to squeeze the Koreans.

And that's just the politicians.

Those are cities? Looks more like small encampments in different places in the city.

Think of them as micro-Detroits.

The ‘homeless industry’ is one of the more interesting liberal scams...

A few years ago there were a bunch living in a park near the Waikiki Hilton, you could see the campfires at night and of course we were told to not go there at night (duh).

There’s some sort of special Pacific Islander visa that allows certain people entry with no apparent requirement for support etc. Many of these vagrants are not Hawaiians.

Communists and the freaks who pimp for them are some of the sickest vermin to ever crawl across the face of the Earth.

There are thousands of homeless, they are everywhere in Honolulu, many dumped from the Mainland.

Ironically, here’s a cartoon from today’s paper?

They are referred to here as “zombies.” You can’t go more than a couple hundred feet in most parts of the city without running into at least one.
