To: Bigg Red

Yes, I’ve come across lots of women and men, boomer and not, who have no idea what respect means. Also, I just finished a couple of years attending college and met many young people who ARE respectful and courteous.

I don’t think people change very much. Seems like there are always good ones and bad ones.

I can’t argue with that, but, over the years, I can see a definite coarsening of our culture in so many ways. While the ratio of good to bad people may not have changed, there has definitely been an eroding of civility. And fewer people feel compelled to show respect to others.

Etiquette is seen as an anachronism. Just look at table manners or at the way people dress like slobs. They are not bad people, but they are lax in manners.
