The fragile Tory truce over Europe disintegrated last night after it emerged that more than 100 Conservative MPs and candidates are set to defy David Cameron at the General Election next year by vowing to leave the EU.
The Prime Minister has promised the Tory manifesto will spell out his pledge for a referendum by 2017 on Britains links with Europe after trying to win back key powers from Brussels.
But Tory rebels will go further and make their own personal manifesto vows to campaign to withdraw from the EUregardless of any concessions by Brussels.

This May or may not help with understanding. UKIP, a political party appears to be successfully challenging the Tory, Labour hegemony that wreaked chaos on the island nation. Nigel Farage is a charismatic politician currently in the EU parliament and with UKIP, a political shooting star. Defying every attempt to undermine Farage's popularity, the following documentary attempts to put UKIP and Farage in a negative light and fails miserably. About an hour in length, worth your time.

Good to see this happening in the old UK. The Tories must stand for something or they stand for nothing. I urge the Rebel Tories to go UKIP on this issue—EU is an experiment that didn’t work—only a powerful Napoleon or Hitler could make it work with brute force. Failing that, its a Liberal wet dream that will bankrupt Europe and weaken it for Russian Conquest (I predict in 2022). What else could happen.

In case you haven't the time to view the entire video, this quote from the Tory/Labour interview-ees who expressed quite a bit of concern answers your question . . .
- "UKIP has the highest percentage of working class supporters

“”UKIP has the highest percentage of working class supporters”
Thank you for the follow-up. I won’t get to the video before Saturday. Unfortunately, I think the “working class” is a rapidly diminishing segment.

Additionally, here are some additional notes from the documentary:
- 28:33 Farage: "Every pub is a parliament" where hard working, taxpaying responsible adults congregate and discuss politics. The local pub patrons consider the state is too big, too bossy, too greedy and voters want/need to lift the shackles of taxation & regulation because responsible voters willingly borrow money & take risks since wealth isn't created by governments, it is created people. The common sense of a saloon bar believes saving is better than borrowing and we should live within our means.
- 71% of UKIP supporters are independent minded 50+ years of age who believe in self reliance & utterly rejects political correctness
- 35:00 re: immigration issues, described by political opponents as 36:20 another Hitler, or as David Cameron describes Farage's supporters as lunatics, fruitcakes &/or secret racists.
- 38:00 Farage suggests future immigrants will need a work visa. They will have to support themselves and their families for five years before becoming eligible for welfare benefits, free health care & free education.
- 38:28 Farage: "We as a party are not opposed to immigration. We are not opposed to immigrants.
- 44:52 discusses the question of a potential electoral pact between Tory EU Skeptics & UKIP. . .Farage's answer: absolutely no.
- 45:15 illustrates how political opposition threats to Tory/Labour hegemony are disposed of by incumbents...by temporarily embracing the issues making the opposition popular to undermine the opposition's political platform.
