no prob. Someone else had posted a thread here a while ago about what XP users might do when M$ drops support for XP this month. In that thread there were a number of good alternatives with listings of pros and cons.

Mint looked like the best option to me, I think there is a Cinnamon desktop IIRC, that looked interesting.

I’ll see if I can find the thread and post a link for you.

Just tried out Linux Mint from a flash drive. Looks good. Thought about importing all of the Windows settings and bookmarks it will let me ( from Firefox ) but then realized that most of it I don’t use daily. Would rather start clean.

Seen various web opinions on whether to use anti antivirus and malware programs on Linux. Thoughts?
