I’m sure Putin and the Russian military are laughing at what idiots we are. Officers and NCOs should be able to carry on-duty should they desire, and privately owned weapons allowed in soldiers’ possession, not locked down in arms rooms, which is current policy.

The base commander, Lt. Gen Mark Milley, needs to be relieved.

He said yesterday that he did not believe in concealed carry on the base. The base also has a gun registration policy.

I believe personal owned weapons should be allowed on base, and soldiers should follow the laws of the state regarding carrying. Military-issued weapons should stay in the armory.

Obviously, the gun registration didn’t work since the soldier brought his personal weapon on base without registering it. The prevention of concealed carry also did not work, as the other soldiers could not defend themselves. All soldiers had to wait until military police arrived.
