In a letter to Navy Secretary Ray Mabus last week, five Democratic senators urged him "to increase smoke-free areas on bases" and give sailors more access to programs to stop smoking.
"We urge you to do everything in your capacity to address this issue for our military men and women, including moving forward with the proposal to stop the sale of tobacco aboard all naval bases and ships," said the letter from Sens. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., Dick Durbin, D-Ill., Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, Jack Reed, D-R.I., and Sherrod Brown D-Ohio.

Adolf Hitler tried this too.
The greatest generation won WW2 and many of our soldiers smoked.

Suggested by “Richard Blumenthal D-CT” ....the CT AG and Senator who ran as a Vietnam Vet who “forgot” he wasn’t really in Vietnam. The media kindly left the disclosure on this up to McMahon and youtube. It was never disclosed by the consolidated media as it should have been.

While I hate smoking and I haven’t since military basic in 1967, I hate seeing nanny state regulations and laws. That said, I do enjoy the no smoking in restaurants. So maybe I’m a hypocrite.
I started smoking in boot camp. When the smoking lamp was lit I was always there.
