WASHINGTON A husky voice gives a call to arms at Arlington National Cemetery and a row of nine bikers in jeans and leather vests salutes in unison as six Marines lift a coffin adorned with an American flag.
The men dont know the deceased or his family. But the uniforms military and motorcycle the thousands of white gravestones and the Stars and Stripes deeply connect the small gathering.

We dont care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether youre a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesnt matter where youre from or what your income is; you dont even have to ride.
The only prerequisite is respect.

My husband and I have ridden twice to funerals with this beautiful group, and must say the emotions, pride, and honor given were one of the best things I’ve ever experienced in my life. Thank you Patriot Guard!
Thanks, but not only have I seen it, I am in it. The memorial was to honor the 5th Marine Regiment out of Camp Pendleton who died in Afghanistan, and I was part of the contingent that delivered it to Camp Mateo at Camp Pendleton.

I’m a Patriot Guard Rider also but have only been able to participate in a half dozen honor rides. I have to juggle work, single parent, and home with honoring my fellow veterans. Riding in honor of veterans is an honor and privilege. We do rides in groups on weekends and swap war stories.
Wow! Thanks!
I am retired and have no kids. So paying tribute to our veterans both past and present is the best way I know to spend my time. Ride safe!
I love them.
