AMAZING. Hollywood just killed God, and almost no critic noticed how it quietly slipped a green human-hater in his place.
I never thought you could make a two-hour film about Noah and his ark without mentioning God even once, but director Darren Aronofsky has managed it in his $142 million epic, which opened last week.
His Noah, played by a muttering Russell Crowe, prays to a different deity, a much nastier one called the creator who seems to brood on global warming.
Hey, what a coincidence! So does Aronofsky, who last year declared, climate change as an enemy of the people. So does Crowe, tweeting in most unbiblical language: F--- denial of climate change.
And in their film, Noah, they give us their creator, a vegetarian who really does want to f--- denial of climate change and put filthy humans in their place so, as Crowes Noah rasps, creation will be left alone safe. Beautiful.
As an agnostic, I should barely care which invisible being Crowe talks to, but this switcheroo is freaky.

Plus movie’s wise, this past weekend was “weak” for the box office, Hollywood knowing they cannot compete with “March Madness”.
Sounds like this is a religious film: The Church of Global Warming
A barrel full of apples is likely to have some bad ones at the bottom.
Crash and burn. Or trash and burn.
Hype will only carry any concept just so far. After that, genuine stinkers have to be carried out and buried.
Should have gone straight to video release. That way, maybe less immediate negative publicity.
But hey, they had one helluva first weekend.
“The Ten Commandments” it ain’t.
I think Crowe was turned down to see the Pope.
Thank God. Otherwise we'd all be a bunch of inbred bastards.
Good. Hope the film “sinks” and that’s the last we hear of it.
I was invited to see this movie over the weekend - glad I had other things to do — like give the dogs a bath and turn over the compost pile!!
Saved $$ and my time wasn’t wasted. Must have been divine intervention!!
Blasphemy!
I found post 31 slightly incomprehensible, which usually leads to me ignoring such a post, ergo that may be why I haven’t noticed posts like that on these threads.
You would probably have to look at the whole series of posts to see it ... :-) ...
This poster is mostly subtle, but others are more direct and blatant ... like one in particular saying that he and his wife loved it and saw nothing wrong with it.
It’s really a twisted plot here. It’s something like this ... Noah and his wife have the three sons, one of which has a woman, but the other two don’t. So, what they’re going to do is take the two young girls of the first brother, for themselves ... you see ...
At least that’s what I understand from having read about it. I won’t be going to see it.
Sometimes God does intervene like that, in small ways ... :-) ...
I always wondered as a kid how Adam and Eve with two sons begat the entire human race.
Just like Jesus said ... we’re getting there.
Yes, F it. Facts are pesky things.
Movie does not = bible.
I'll see it just because of Russell Crowe.
That’s a different matter and is quite unique - a one-time event in the human race - with Adam and Eve. You’ll notice that with Noah, the human race is squeezed down into just three families ... those three sons and their wives. And with very large families and with their still long lives - the human race grew quite fast, again.
Now with Adam and Eve, they were perfect beings, physically speaking, and you know there wasn’t the kind of genetic damage we have in the human race now. Adam and Eve had lots of sons and daughters (although only a few sons are mentioned by name). So, it was absolutely mandatory that all those sons and daughters marry and have large families. There was no way around that in the beginning.
It was later, that God laid down the commandment against incest ... but we’ll also note in the Bible that it did not apply to cousins - only the very immediate family.
