Sounds like a TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identity Card). Very secure and good background checks....I thought.
Considering that you have to pay $160.00 and wait 8 weeks to get it, yeah you’d think so.
Apparently it’s just another money grabbing scam by the Feds.
Background checks don’t always detect bad apples; should have in this case tho. I know one of the systems they would have used and it should have picked up sufficient criminal history to have stopped him from getting the TWIC card if he had felony criminal history and were a security risk. Sounds to me like someone gave him a pass to get in; almost like it was pre-planned. Normally they would have flagged him (I would think unless there standards are almos non-existent).
