Republican Congressional leaders, less than three hundred miles from Fort Sumter where the Confederates fired on the federal government and launched a horrific four-year American Civil War, are meeting to declare a civil war against conservatives who are the base of the Republican Party.
Since the purpose of the weekend meeting at the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island in Florida is to raise money and strategizing as to how to defeat limited-government constitutional conservatives in Republican primaries, this meeting is an act of war by Eric Cantor and the Republican Congressional leadership.
By fighting conservatives, Republican congressional leaders are publicly acknowledging they do not share the core values of conservatives and Tea Partyers, including limited-government, fidelity to the constitution, lower taxes, balanced budget, significantly reducing the size, scope and reach of the federal government.
The Republican primary voters will now be able to clearly see who are the principled conservatives verses those candidates receiving support from the Ruling Class, Crony Capitalists such as Karl Rove, John Boehner, Eric Cantor and Mitch McConnell.
Grassroots conservatives wish Republican leaders could get as angry at the lawlessness of the Obama Administration and Congressional Democrats as they do at conservatives.
This meeting is proof positive that the Republican Establishment thinks the Tea Party is alive, strong, and a major threat to their existence.
I often wonder why Republicans don’t mount a vigorous defense of their positions when Democrats attack. I slowly come to realize that there really isn’t a two party system.
“The Left would desperately love to see a de facto one-party state, and one way for them to do that is to help turn the Republican Party into a subservient, 2nd tier mirror image of the Democratic one that’s just barely alive and effective enough to maintain the illusion of a two-party system of government. They hope, pray, and are at hard at work hoping to achieve that day.” -David Huntwork
Seems the left is becoming successful.
I have a good (not great, but good) rep. Will vote for my rep. Have two terrible senators (one repub, one dem). dem is up for re-election. Think that one can be defeated. Governor is fair. Still watching the governor.
There are only 10 kinds of conservatives.......
Yes. Against RINO’S. I thought it was obvious.
Not really.
So, speak clearly. Do you advocate for voting for the lesser evil? Do you think that voting for a republican that supports abortion is better than voting for a democrat that supports abortion?
Because it matters which list you wind up on.
I'm fed up to my eyeballs with lesser-evil apologists here on FR.
If I misunderstood you, I would like to clear that up.

It's all part of the orientation process , when they first arrive .
They are taught right from the get-go that the first 8 - 10 hours of every day belongs to fund raising for " The Party" (which ever party that is )
You then legislate out of what is left over for the rest of your work day.(by that time, you are brain dead !)
That is what I learned from my disgraced Congress-critter

Just out of curiousity, does Viguerie and other non-establishment conservatives not see that they are going after establishment conservatives all over the country, primarying them in many states. And as Viguerie states himself, the Tea Party is a major threat to the GOPe’s existence. Frankly, the Tea Party started doing this (primarying GOPe) before establishment Pubs started fighting back in primaries themselves. Did anti-establishment conservatives really think that GOPe would not at some point start to fight back? Does anyone really think they would just roll over and do nothing? Of course not.
Conservatives had to give some GOPe a wakeup call; however, many of them were strong conservatives in the past congressional battles, fighting the fight long before the Tea Party’s existence. And many GOPe don’t understand, having been original warriors for the cause in the past, how their own conservative base has now turned on them. What happened is the GOPe became too complacent, have been in Congress for too long, and as many of them are now older, they are just out of fight.
A new generation will replace them, the Trey Gowdies, Ted Cruz’s, Mike Lee’s, Rand Paul’s (this last one is too Libertarian for my taste), and others of their ilk. But rather than slam GOPe’s en masse, many of them should be appreciated for the battles they fought in the past. It’s just time for many of them to be replaced through primaries. And they will be as time goes by.
I’m all for primary fights, that’s what primaries are for and may the best man win (how unPC of me). But to expect that one side or the other would not fight back is wholly unrealistic. Last election it was a mixed bag; some GOPe won and some anti-GOPe conservatives/Tea Partiers won. Hopefully more conservatives will win this time over GOPe. However, neither side is going to unilaterally disarm, and we ALL better be unified going into the actual mid-term elections and again in 2016, or we are doomed to Obamacare for as long as the eye can see, as well as the tyrannical rule of Dems for years to come.

Feeling in a Civil War Mood Eh? http://youtu.be/T3k8H_9SjoM?t=2m14s
If the “big one” (earthquake) comes to California and we keep turning our backs on Israel there probably won’t be an election.
Bush. Dole. McCain, Romney were all moderate and liberal, by your measure they should win handily

We disagree on a few things, GeronL, but on this statement you and I are in 100% agreement.
I think that is what Vallerie wants ..
Greater ties to Iran (her homeland)
and thus isolate Israel as the International enemy.
Beware the third horseman of the Apocalypse !!
We need all the R we can get for the Senate in order to take control of that body. Your expression is such that you don't give a damn if we get the Senate. Think what you are willing to give up. Miss Romney yet? Obamacare would be dead.
And we intend to win it.
And then there are the Blood Moons coming up with prophetic importance.
We are living on shaky grounds as a country. God will not be mocked by corrupt self-serving leaders or a nation given over to a reprobate mindset. Considering God is in charge of everyone’s last breath. . . . wouldn’t you think that people would go to the polls keeping HIM in mind?
Totally wrong. He lost because of the constant bitching and pushing not to vote for him. His lost was the result of millions that just didn't vote. Most forgot that the Republicans voted in the primaries for Romney. Apparently the no voters thoughts was the hell with Romney and they would rather have King Obama. These negligent voters put King Obama in.
Yeah , I know about them ... I believe they start around april 15th , rite ?
And there are four of them this year , ..rite ?
That the purists in the GOP that hate conservatives thought they could skate by with putting up a liberal, pro-abortion, anti-gun, pro-big government candidate, just shows how clueless they were.
If your candidate doesn't win..... he's UNELECTABLE. By definition.

Apologies then, but they don’t seem to get the meaning.
