Well. This is interesting. Over at Talkers.com (here) and Mediaite (here) Michael Savage is at it again. Saying, among other things, that he has stomped Sean Hannity in the ratings. But the Talkers story is particularly instructive since Talkers is devoted to the business of talk radio. In fact, the publication makes a point of saying that as a rule of thumb, precisely since it is devoted to promoting the institution of talk radio, it doesnt like to get into what Talkers calls personal vendettas between hosts. So it is striking that this story appears at all and obvious as to why it does. Writes Talkers:

Fourteen years ago -- wow, it seems like yesterday. "VRWC" is going to outlive the commie who blurted it out, by far.
Yup. Immortalized. I think the phrase for dear Hillary! is ‘Hoist on her own petard” ;)
Sample Hannity segment:
Dah dah dah dah dah DAH, dah dah dah dah dah DAH DAH (you fill in the subject).
Dah dah dah Bill Ayers, dah dah dah dah Bernadine Dohrn!
I'm a Reagan Conservative.
Back after this word from Lifelock with The Architect, Karl Rove.
That said, I do give Hannity a pass because he's great about our troops. But you're right, once you've heard Hannity's spiel, you've heard it. And heard it. And heard it.
“Republicans want dirty air and water!”
“Throw Grandma off the cliff!”
During the 2012 season, I tried to listen to Hannity. But-—and I do not exaggerate-—when I heard him repeat each of those phrases three times in one day, I yelled at the car radio and turned him off.
Oh, yikes. You nailed it with both of those phrases.
Now I have to scratch my eardrums with a fork :)
LOL!
I sure don’t miss not hearing Savage ... total gas bag ... pining badly for Quinn and Rose ... victims of the FCC and “localism” ... always love the leftie’s new speak! Below is the most recent update from Quinn:
As you all know we are not permitted to do much of anything for a 6 months period starting back in November. With all that is transpiring now it is as frustrating to us as it is to you. Your support has been like nothing I have experienced in a lifetime of doing radio. Our affiliates report the same response and all are looking forward to our return. While there are developments on that front, they are still in the formative stages and it would be premature to discuss them at this time. Suffice it to say we truly miss all of you and thank you again for your dedication to our show.
In the mean time the cost of keeping up the web site and all that goes with it continues. I was considering standing by an on-ramp of I-76 with a sign that reads Will rant for food but with the coldest winter of the age of Global Warming I thought better of it. Instead I would ask that you check out the gift shop for some neat stuff that makes great gifts for your conservative friends. They can also serve to tick off that liberal co worker who keeps sending you articles from Mother Jones. Any support to help us keep the site up is greatly appreciated. In the mean time we will keep you informed of any upcoming appearances or return to the air.
I don’t dislike Hannity. I thought his show was subpar for what we need at this time, and there are much more qualified people. Savage is better in my opinion (when he isn’t tooting his own horn), but there are far better ones.
Thanks for posting.
Watch Savage launch on Talkers, American Spectator and anybody else handy now. He reacts emotionally to things, and sees things in terms of personal betrayal, all the while claiming not to.
The one where she says sex is dirty , right?
Did anybody hear catch the “ boat survey” show a few months back?
Ssh, don’t tell the Left. They take him darn seriously!
Yes, he also fixates on light rail, the homeless, school lunch programs, tattoos(kind of a tough sell in Seattle and Everett) and the “Drunk dorms”( a Seattle thing.
All that being said, I still listen whenever I’m home then. And Ive been on as a caller at least once.
As far as I know, he has never addressed his connection to Jack Abramoff. And whiles sex columnist Dan Savage has been on the show at least once, I wouldn’t look for Ted Cruz any time soon after Medved accused him of some pretty bad motives a while back.
Has anybody tried the Ben Shapiro show?
When I said tough sell, I meant being anti tattoo, between the hipsters in Seattle and the sailors in Everett, practically every adult has some ink, it seems.
I have often suspected the same thing. I think sometimes be strays off script, and may also have adopted some if the positions over the years. But, yes, I think it may be a true conspiracy, the kind people talk about a lot, but doesn’t really happen that off.
Yes, that Leyland Yee business is wild, especially coming out at the same time as all the crooked mayors, etc.
Is he one of the ones who sits in for Rush?
Yeah she I believe she said this. Usually when he is on such a diatribe, I turn it off. I am looking for him to analyze current events and implications for the future. I am not looking to hear about his personal life as much. His personal life sounds a bit boring.
Although he claims to be only a light drinker and hates drugs, especially psych drugs, I have long suspected that he has a substance abuse problem. It would explain a lot, including the lame third hour, usually made up of spliced up recordings. On really bad days, the third hour would start mid way through the second hour.
It would explain things like his recent lashing out at Jimmy, which may have cost him as many listeners as his unfortunate political donations.
Savage also has serious issues with women.
I think it’s possible that this theory is not mutually exclusive from the leftwing plant theory. Both could be true
Dirty air, dirty water.
