“My granddaughter has been the target of harassing phone calls, strangers tracking her down and knocking on her door and negative, unwanted attention on the internet. This has gone too far and it needs to stop now. I deeply regret any role I had in creating this situation but now, as a grandparent, I say enough is enough.
“As I have already said, I am reimbursing my campaign for the amount spent on thank-you gifts produced by my granddaughter, a professional and talented artist who produced gifts for my staff and supporters that had a personal connection to my family and my hometown of Searchlight, Nevada. I believe my granddaughter is a very talented individual and I admire her work tremendously, but I've decided that it would be best to pay for her work out of my own pocket. My office is reviewing our records to ensure that we reimburse my campaign for the full amount.

At every step of this process, my actions and those of my campaign have been in full compliance with the law. I have heard from non-family members that Ryan Reid is a talented, sensitive artist. She did not deserve to have this spotlight shone on her. I have great sympathy for her. But heal thyself, grandpa. You brought us to...

Victims of Lawful Plunder
Men naturally rebel against the injustice of which they are victims. Thus, when plunder is organized by law for the profit of those who make the law, all the plundered classes try somehow to enter — by peaceful or revolutionary means — into the making of laws. According to their degree of enlightenment, these plundered classes may propose one of two entirely different purposes when they attempt to attain political power: Either they may wish to stop lawful plunder, or they may wish to share in it.
Woe to the nation when this latter purpose prevails among the mass victims of lawful plunder when they, in turn, seize the power to make laws! Until that happens, the few practice lawful plunder upon the many, a common practice where the right to participate in the making of law is limited to a few persons. But then, participation in the making of law becomes universal. And then, men seek to balance their conflicting interests by universal plunder. Instead of rooting out the injustices found in society, they make these injustices general. As soon as the plundered classes gain political power, they establish a system of reprisals against other classes. They do not abolish legal plunder. (This objective would demand more enlightenment than they possess.) Instead, they emulate their evil predecessors by participating in this legal plunder, even though it is against their own interests.
It is as if it were necessary, before a reign of justice appears, for everyone to suffer a cruel retribution — some for their evilness, and some for their lack of understanding.
The Results of Legal Plunder
It is impossible to introduce into society a greater change and a greater evil than this: the conversion of the law into an instrument of plunder.
The Law Defends Plunder
But it does not always do this. Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Thus the beneficiaries are spared the shame, danger, and scruple which their acts would otherwise involve. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons, and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim — when he defends himself — as a criminal.

Yeah. Meanwhile, Reid instigates his violent supporters to pester the (private citizen) Koch brothers from the floor of the senate.
He spent 17K of campaign funds at her Etsy shop gifts for his staff and others so he says. I wish he would buy something from my Etsy shop.
I thought she made jewelry.
Go for the throat. Reid is a dried up old man who needs to go back to his home in the desert. (Under a sage brush would be nice).
How do we know Reid wasn’t laundering that money or providing kickbacks to his “supporters” thru his granddaughters company?
Speaking of the Koch brothers, I got this from “ofa” last night stating that the Koch brothers are apparently funding “Animal House” type booze fest at colleges all around the country to counter fauxbama care.:

This should humiliate anyone who’s ever been associated with the Koch brothers.
One of their anti-Obamacare groups is going to college campuses, giving away free booze to try to bribe young folks out of getting health insurance.
Let them spend their millions on sick crap like that. Whether they like it or not, they’re losing this debate, all because of the work you’re doing. We’re the group that’s capable of putting these groups in their place.
