A solution to a problem that does not exist. To be resolved by an action that will not work. That is liberalism in a nutshell.

I'm always impressed when scientists who really have no idea of how our long term climate works want to (I can't use the word I want) diddle around with nature while having no clue as to what or how much future damage they may do. But what the hell their experts, right?

“Extracting carbon from nature” . . . that just sounds evil . . . playing God . . . a “carbon abortion” performed on nature (creation) itself. . . .
But of course they are absolutely certain of the intended and unintended consequences (/sarcasm)

The article says to make enough of the compound needed to capture the carbon would require an area the size of INDIA.

Uh.. plant some plants.
Shocking perhaps, for those who never studied the Carbon Cycle in High School Biology , but plants, algae and microbes are major modes of carbon fixing in nature as the use C02 as food.

The process - called bio-energyBurning wood - it's the bleeding edge of technology innovation.

I guess they never heard of these things called “plants” (aka “flora”). They’ve only been around for a couple billion years so it’s understandable the U.N. would be unfamiliar. Funny thing about them, though, they’re relatively cheap and the only byproducts of their CO2 consumption are oxygen and food for the “fauna”.

How much of these trillions of dollars will find their way into Algore’s pockets? (Rhetorical question.)
Are they concerned about the oceans’ rising?
I have an idea! Have all schoolchildren in the world take one day off each week, and go to the seashore with straws. Have the children suck, and suck, and suck up all the water they can!
I haven’t worked out all the kinks, but it seems pretty practical to me.

... but plants, algae and microbes are major modes of carbon fixing in nature as the use C02 as food.
Otherwise known as inherent stability...more CO2 in the atmosphere will result in more green plant growth....which will result in more green plant consumption of CO2...which will result in less CO2 in the atmosphere.
Basic math...but they don't teach that anymore, I guess.

technology that may be able to take the equivalent of China's greenhouse gas emissions out of the carbon cycle Great! You busybodies give them a call and tell them how much it's going to cost, phone numbers are here: http://english.gov.cn/

These guys need real jobs, or real hobbies that would distract them from their dystopian visions. A few moral values, the kind that would give them a crises of conscience every time they think of a new scam, would help.

Last I checked , weeds grow for free Well that's no good. There's no way to accumulate power or wealth off that.

Hmm... Anyone want to send me $5 a month to sponsor a carbon munching weed. You’ll receive a document including a picture and name of your weed in the mail, which can show to your greenie friends.

Pinky and the Brain came up with better schemes that these Climate Alarmists ever dreamed of.
I wonder how many tons of carbon they say unicorns put out?
To: NormsRevenge
I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near one of these sequestration locations. If one day the thing releases its contents for whatever reason, there are going to be a lot of dead and maimed people in the vicinity.
Such things could be interesting “weapons”.
