WASHINGTON (AP) The head of the Internal Revenue Service told House Republicans on Wednesday that it would take years to provide all the documents they have subpoenaed in their probe of how the agency handled tea party groups' applications for tax-exempt status.
The comments by IRS chief John Koskinen drew a frosty response from Republicans who run the House Government Oversight and Reform Committee, one of several congressional panels investigating the controversy. The panel's chairman, Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., warned him he should comply with the request "or potentially be held in contempt" of Congress, a sometimes threatened but seldom-used authority.

Imagine how slow it would be if it wasn’t a transparent administration like Obama’s in charge.
Start with releasing the name of the IRS official who leaked the religious group’s donor list to the opposition...
He’s lying. All they need is a boolian search of the servers. Take about 5 minutes.
THAT would be a great start...
I already hold them in contempt
This is beyond ridiculous. I’d start with this POS and fire him and keep going down the chain until I got the documents. I’m sure some low level employee could get them in hours.
CYA anyone? FIRE THEM!
The only solution--and this opens a Pandora's Box--is for a successive administration to investigate and prosecute these lawbreakers.
So much of American tradition has been eroded by this outlaw administration. The damage to the republic is extensive. We need to make certain they know there is NO PLACE TO HIDE and there will be NO PROTECTION if they break the law.
Sauron
BTW, Darryl Issa is USELESS! A total TOOL! If Boehner was a true leader (I know, laugh away) he’d remove him and put someone in that would do something.
The GOPe are useful idiots for the left.
“Try that excuse the next time you are audited.”
Exactly!
The IRS gives you a timeline to comply or else the penalty and interest charges start adding up.
That is either evidence of monumental incompetence, or refusal to perform the job.
Many Federal Laws compel the maintenance of all agency records in an easily recoverable form.
Either provide the records, or resign and allow new competent public employees to do the job.
End of discussion.
Or invoke violation of RICO Laws.
Any citizen may file those charges, but it would carry much more weight if a member of Congress does it.
What's the definition of "Representative," again?
You can bet they’ll find your tax documents immediately if they feel like auditing your ass.
why should one branch of the federal government have to subpeona information from another branch....makes no sense whatsoever...they are part of the government and everything should be shared between departments....in theory, we are all on the same side.
Hey that's a good one. We'll tell that next time the IRS thugs come around to us for documentation.
BULLSHIT!!!! Admin Mod forgiveness please...
Selective prosecution and stonewalling.
Koskinen can be proud to achieve levels of corruption not generally seen in the United States; traditionally, for this sort of thing, we have to look to Paraguay or the Congo.
It’s a nice foray into multiculturalism.
Maybe Koskinen should rot in jail until all of the documents are made available.
A real piece of shit. The House should vote to cut off all executive pay for the IRS leaders until they produce all the subpoenaed documents. Otherwise, let the bastards starve.
What we really need is a public list of all the IRS employees who worked on attacking conservative groups, from the highest to the lowest, and information about them, where they came from re other leftist organizations, etc.
We need to know who the enemy is, from leaders to “Good Germans”. Then fire the bastards and ban them from any federal employment, FOREVER.
Issa, quite this “potentially held in contempt”. Give them 24 hours and then issue the contempt citations. Tie their nuts up in court suits and cut off their salaries.
Show them no mercy, now or in the future. Only the first 3 who roll over and give serious testimonies will get some kind of limited immunity. Otherwise, screw them too.
Think I’ll use that ploy next time I get audited.
