SEAL Team Six, the U.S. military group credited with taking down Osama bin Laden in 2011, could have Fort Lauderdale next in its sights.
A proposed operation in the city involving hovering combat helicopters, exploding flash-bang devices and the sounds of gunfire is in the works.
(snip)
What type of exercises can be expected? The agreement mentions the possibility of using low-flying helicopters and simulated ammunition to train personnel on a "rooftop fast-rope insertion" into a building.

And so why did the US build the 300 acre 'fake city' in Virginia at a cost of $96 million?. I forget...
Anyone else seeing military activity over cities?
Hmm, do you think the military should NOT train for urban warfare, in the 21st century?
“Hmm, do you think the military should NOT train for urban warfare, in the 21st century?”
Sure. That’s what military bases are for.
Just the usual military helo flights checking out the Griffith Park Observatory.
Demi Moore is the OIC!
But will she use “Stand Your Ground” for ROI ?
The above from your link... that said I don't believe SEALS can be pulled into the scam liberals are setting up to hurt American citizens. Maybe the army and Air Force... they've been PC for a while - but not the marines, SEALS, or Navy....
Another day, another military operation on American soil, in preparation for operations against American citizens to take our freedoms, rights, and probably, our lives.
Dude they have urban mock ups on bases they can train on. They are doing this in our streets to desensitize the public so when martial law is declared and they come to the ciities and lock them down.
What do you think that door to door fiasco was in Boston? It was defacto martial law to see who would sqwack about it. Nobody did.
Being a SEAL in Ft. Lauderdale during spring break.... the possibilities are endless....
“Dude they have urban mock ups on bases they can train on.”
Sure, but a mock up is only going to prepare you so much for the real thing. I don’t have a problem with them occasionally training in more realistic environments, as long as they aren’t violating posse comitatus.

Yeah, yeah. Send me a FReepmail when Obama finally declares martial law, as all the paranoid FReepers are so certain that he is planning to do. I’ll be holding my breath.
“as long as they arent violating posse comitatus”
That is what they are doing. The military has zero business training in populated areas such as big cities. Wake up and smell the cordite. :-)
An excellent opportunity to liberate young, attractive coeds taken hostage by their string bikinis and t-backs.
Let’s be sure to bring cameras, troops - America wants to see evidence of a successful op.
HEY! Think of all the BILLION$$ we can save by closing all the MILITARY bases, gunnery ranges and training facilities: We can just have the military practice side-by-side with their civilian 'counterparts' and display military force over citizens on a weekly basis...
It’s the continuing conditioning of military forces of every branch that it’s normal to operate on US soil that concerns me.
Much out there about the questions being asked of soldiers, NCOs & Officers about that.
I don’t care what ‘branch’ built the facility: All branches will use it (at that price).
Chief: "We'll let you throw a grenade."
BtD: "Uh...well..."
Chief: "And you can have a ride in the hovercraft. And take a run through the full-auto shoot house."
BtD: "Hmm...well, I guess it isn't that loud..."
Well, I don’t think building one facility means they will never have need to train elsewhere for that kind of thing. Posse Comitatus doesn’t have anything to say on the matter of military training, only law enforcement, so it’s irrelevant.
“That is what they are doing.”
No, it’s not. What laws are they trying to enforce during their training exercises?
If you don’t see whats wrong with this picture then neither I nor anyone else can help you. Enjoy the FEMA camp expeerience. I can’t save you. :-)
Ya know, you’re absolutely right.
Interaction on this subject is so stimulating; now where’s the newspaper...
