With Drudge being pilloried for paying his Obamacare Taxes (due with his quarterly 2015 tax payment), I got to wondering how many young people are withholding more this year for the Obamacare taxes due April 15 of next year?
My guess is not many because the Lamestream Press doesn't want them to know that it can be 1% of their income before the Mid-Term elections. If the young knew it could be 2% due by April 15 2016 they might throw a fit.
Come to think of it, I think they will throw a fit anyway because they are Internet Savvy and smarter than the Lamestream Media and the Democrats!
Sending people a bill ain't gonna go over very well with the low-information types.
But it would be great in Political Adds:
27 year old:
I am so happy to pay the Obamacare Tax for Insurance I wasn't able to Afford. The 1% will put me out of my apartment and as the Democrats say, free me up from the Burden of work. Oh, I am Sooooo Happy, I'm just going to let them know how Happy I am at the VOTING BOOTH. And I just Knoooow You Will Tooooooo!
Hard to say what the reaction would/will be, but I could definitely see some being placated by the inevitable onslaught of entertainers and other administration sycophants doing media spots: “Let’s all ‘pitch in’ and do the right thing...”.
“Skulls full of libtard mush”, unswayed by facts, evidence and reality. Sad, isn’t it?
We need to get a copy of next year’s 1040EZ as soon as possible to put in candidate’s ads...
I tell all my lib co-workers that and they just look at me with that same old blank “I am too stupid to understand” look.
Tax time has been morphed into a celebration of sorts...money falls out of the sky and people buy some new stuff with the refund. Its completely lost on them how much they actually paid. Most have no idea, because they can’t even fill out an EZ form.
I’d love for withholding to be abolished...but probably won’t happen.
As a consolation prize, I’d love to see mastery of a 1040EZ form be made a high school graduation requirement. At least people will get a notion of what taxes are.
I am to the point I just don’t care anymore about riling folks. I don’t get into long conversations but instead I make quick, pointed observations that are targeted to policy and mention no candidate, party, or elected official and then watch the response.
“how many young people are withholding more”
Most will usually get a refund. They will take it out of that.
If they start deducting from payroll now it would be too
obvious to them. It will be well after Jan. !st. before
they realize they have been jacked. I would love to see
the looks on their faces when they find out that that
IRS refund has been confiscated by Obamacare.
I’d throw in a half semester of payroll accounting. I took it back in the mid 90s at a tech college. It was in the business track. The absurd laws, regulations, and rules were sickening and infuriating.
My guess is that none of them are witholding additional money just like they are not signing up.
Isn’t the percent dependent on income? What is the Maximum someone could owe?
Yes, very sad. But I think it is more than that. We are all human, with all the limitations that go along with that. It is normal and understandable that people want to be happy, not be stressed, to want to ‘fit in’ and be liked, and to want to believe that everything is valid and good (e.g. to find security in the supposed validity of our popular culture). Add to that the admirable human desire to ‘be charitable’, and to ‘be fair’, and you have multiple targets for those who wish to exploit human behavior for personal or ideological gain.
IMHO the only effective way to combat propaganda is to shine a light on it, and inundate people with the truth. It is essential that it be shown that although fairness and charity and self-sacrifice are truly divine attributes - the path whereby these are sought can be manipulated and ultimately hurt all of us.
The problem is that most (again, IMHO) politicians are primarily interested in their own jobs and paychecks. The world doesn't seem to have an abundance of those who would lay down their lives for principle.
