Then maybe we can at least solve some problems.
Last week a caller to my radio show opined about the problems of this Democrat administration and this Congress. The list of complaints was extensive. He touched on foggy foreign policy, a sluggish economy, joblessness, waste, fraud and abuse of taxpayer dollars, environmental extremism, lack of leadership . . . and the list goes on.
He then, and rightly so, threw the Republicans under the bus, pointing out that they did not boldly solve things when they were in control of the White House and Congress. I acknowledged that he was correct in his criticism, but that I would rather have an "imperfect Republican" in control of the federal government than a "perfect Democrat".
Our nation is suffering from liberal, inconsistent policies and crony governance like we have not seen for decades, due to a White House and Democrat-controlled Senate gone wild. Lies, deception, corruption and denial in government are at an all-time high.
Imperfect Republicans are simply not nearly as arrogant or blatantly oblivious to the will of the working class. And in fact, they have a better historical record of at least a moderate level of leadership or better, even in a politically partisan climate.
Some people want to make an ideological statement by not supporting or voting for either Democrats or Republicans. I hope they are feeling good about themselves while these "perfect Democrats" continue to impose destructive policies, such as ObamaCare, on businesses and the citizens of this country.
Still others are single-issue voters, or at least they use that as an excuse. Earth to single-issue voters! We have more than a single issue driving this nation in the wrong direction. Agreeing with a candidate 10 out of 10 times would require a miracle. How about six out of 10 times so we can solve some problems!
I personally experienced this years ago when I ran for the U.S. Senate in Georgia. A certain financially well-to-do Democrat had encouraged me for years to run for public office. When I finally did run in 2004, she would not support me because I was "pro-life" and she was "pro-choice". She refused to support me on the other nine issues we agreed on.
I am not saying that Republicans are all that and a bag of chips. They are not. But at least Republicans don't sell you an empty bag of chips, and then tell you they did you a favor while they control all the chips. That's what perfect Democrats do.
If the Founding Fathers knew what we know today, they probably would have included a balanced budget amendment and term limits in the Constitution, and precluded the possibility of the Sixteenth Amendment, which allows the Congress to tax our income.
Perfect Democrats would never consider those changes to the Constitution. They love power and control over the people too much. But at least we have a chance with imperfect Republicans. They would at least leave some of the chips in the bag.
That's why we continue to fight.
Then consider this. We would not have Obama or if we had Obama we most certainly would not have an Empowered Obama made so by the Hand Picked & Whitehouse backed GOP Elitist Friends Of the NWO Bush Family placed in the house and senate expanding presidential powers. How many Federal agencies with regulatory and police powers were created under Da Bushes that Obama uses against us today? Who's idea was it to keep databases on law abiding Americans for example and monitor their communications and personal lives? I remember the USAG's name as to who it was do you?
Voting against GOP-E's Tyranny just like voting against the DEMs is voting for upholding and defending the Constitution Of The United States. That Die In The Wool Communist Obama got his unprecedented presidential powers from a Two House GOP-E Majority that thought no power was to great for their precious Bushes to have. Sad to say that attitude prevailed in FR as well during that time. Dissenters against empowering Bush were told "Your either with us or the terrorist" spewage each time questions were raised.
Just because the Magical -R follows the mean doesn't mean that persons isn't a Communist just as evil.
Romney was a GOP-E Socialist much where many of our nations policy problems including the 1994-96 GOP-E take over of the GOP from Conservatives originates from.
Everyone who has weighed in on this issue is focused on the domestic scene. I’m concerned with our soldiers being killed in Afghanistan because of ludicrous rules of engagement. I’m concerned with destroying our nation’s allies and encouraging our enemies to strike at and kill Americans. I’m concerned with the nuclear nightmare that’s just starting on Obama’s watch, but much like Carter created the modern Iranian state and started the jihad it will haunt us for the rest of the century and beyond. Compared to turning cities into melted glass the domestic issues are just not that important.
Were you screaming Bloody Murder while Rummy and Gates under Bush sat on the asses sucking their thumbs while our finest were facing Court Martials? Remember where it started? And what about that Insane EO made other than Ultra RINO Gerald R Ford basically prohibiting covert acts allowed under the Constitution of The United States in dealing with foreign threats?
Yea Obama is a huge problem. He because such by the accumulated policies from 1989-present in both parties and that is the real problem at hand.
The GOP has it's nice shinny Turds like Boehner, McConnell, and McCain all supporting him. In the meantime ones like Cruz are shunned and the appeasers to Obama are honored and called the GOP voice even on FOX.
I refused to vote for GOP-E enablers. Sad to say W and friends darn fine with Obama's progress. Ever occur to you that like W said about Al Gore that they really weren't that far apart on issues? The enemy is deeply embedded in both parties.
“The enemy is deeply embedded in both parties. “
And, Nixon gave us the EPA. The federal education empire was voted in by a lame duck Republican Congress. I think there’s plenty of bad to go around. But I’ll wager in the future Obama makes Carter look like Lincoln. (By the way, I don’t think we should have had the Civil War. But the South may have made it impossible to avoid. There are arguments on both sides. Politics sucks.)
The only thing we the voters can do is try to pick the best of the turds.
That plan sounds familiar - 2003, I think. The GOP held the WH, House and Senate.
And they exploded the budget.
No one held their feet to the fire then, I have little expectation anyone will if they win congress this fall and revert to business as usual again. Just like with border security.
Its more likely we'll be here in 2, 4 or 6 years, being played for suckers and fighting the same charge of 'purism'.
There is no way a purist will ever find a candidate who agrees 100% with them.
Purists remind me of the democrat crybaby face within the seal of the democrat party.
Waaaahhhh, waaaahhh, wahhh. I didn't get my way 100%, so I'm taking my toys and going home to cry to mamma.
Your “purist” charactiture is a figment of your own imagination. Have fun with it.
We’ve had John McCain who announced an Obama presidency was nothing to be afraid of. There was Romney; “kid gloves” would have been an improvement. We’ve got Boener the weeping appeaser. Karl Rove only attacks candidates from his own conservative base.
It’s nothing new. Bush endorsed Arlen Specter who switched parties after winning on the GOP dime.
Take your RINO traitors and go away!
Um .... *ahem* .... er ...
Hullo?? Knock knock?
Anybody home, Mogger?
Pssssssssssssst ...
... um, don't look now, but the "purists" you're complaining about are made-up. Don't believe me? Then go find one.
You'll have better luck finding the tooth fairy, because the tooth fairy is more real than the "purists" you're going off about.
Hello?? *tap tap* Is this thing on?
Dang!
You oughta be a Republican!
A Conservative at least...
You have already.
Why should they?
We've already shown what type of men we'll accept...
Well; the powers that be gave us a man whose religion claims to have RESTORED Christianity.
That didn't work very well.
We need to 'restore' back to THIS:
Mayflower CompactIn the name of God, Amen. We, whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread Sovereign Lord King James, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, defender of the Faith, etc.Having undertaken, for the Glory of God, and advancements of the Christian faith and honor of our King and Country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents, solemnly and mutually, in the presence of God, and one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civil body politic; for our better ordering, and preservation and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute, and frame, such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions, and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the colony; unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names at Cape Cod the 11th of November, in the year of the reign of our Sovereign Lord King James, of England, France, and Ireland, the eighteenth, and of Scotland the fifty-fourth, 1620.
2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name,
shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways; ,
then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.
Sorry; but I will NOT vote for the 'barely lesser of the two evils' like you wish I would.
I've the money for a new Lincoln.
I'm not about to waste it on an old Vega or a Fiat!
In TODAY's Democratic Party?
Good luck!
I don't think many of your type will get through the vetting process.
... and turn from their wicked ways ...
Such as stop voting to elevate to America's highest office a man who has used his office to promote homosexuality among kids and to make abortion-on-demand available even to the minors he believes have the right to get a judge to override their parents' refusal of consent.
No matter the rationale -- blind fear, namely -- for doing so, voting for that is wicked. I am glad when I see Americans turn away from voting FOR it. It was why I was glad Romney lost.
I was sure that Mitt would WIN!
After all; this Nation had SEEN what it was turning into and where it was going under Obama.
I guess Cain just went over to the dark side otherwise known as GOPe.
Hello?? *tap tap* Is this thing on?
Boy, do I wish you were right about this.
Several of my friends immediately come to mind.
I have tried to get them out to vote several times, but they wouldn't as they didn't have their perfect csandidate to vote for.
One, and his large ecxtended family are all Southern Baptists.
If a candidate isn't exactly with them on abortion, they won't vote for him. If he's at the top of the ticket, they all stay home.
Another friend couldn't care less about abortion, but, like me is 100% 2nd amendment.
If he doesn't have his perfect candidate, he stays home.
I hold my nose and vote.
None of the members of these families have voted since the first Bush.
Most of the members of several of the local churches are the same way. Baptist and Assembly of God.
I also have quite a few relatives of the same ilk.
I don't know of any democrat who thinks this way.
The ones I know always support the rats and vote for them, no matter how bad they are.
