Talk about coming around full-circle on Afghanistan.
Jimmuh Carter's feckless foreign policy invited the Soviet Union to go into Afghanistan. Now Obama blundering is inviting Russia back into the big game.

I would never vote for Obama, but if he were to use a drone on Karzai, I would be tempted to.

Evidently the Afghan leader knows a winner when he sees one.

Hoping to save his scrawny chicken neck from the Taliban when the U.S. pulls out.

Except this time I don’t think that the Russians are interested. And I really have to wonder why we are any more. time to pack up and leave them to their own devices.

Now Obama blundering is inviting Russia back into the big game. They are welcome to it.

And I really have to wonder why we are any more. time to pack up and leave them to their own devices.I would be very surprised if the Russians *weren't* interested. The Pakistanis were using Taliban-run Afghanistan as a conduit to export jihad to the Central Asian stan's. If we leave Afghanistan, the Russians will fill the void. And that's not actually a bad thing, in my book, and a good reason to leave the country.

Please. Please. It was folly for the US to be 'in' Afghanistan. I'd love for Russia to head back in there.

The real problem is not the Taliban but the Saudi’s who are funding all of this. If you don’t have money you can’t export jihad and its been the Saudi’s that have been supplying the money. But if the Russians want to take over this pest hole then more power to them.

Karzai knows the U.S. Is going to leave him dangling in the wind. He has to cut a deal with the Taliban to share a good chunk of is embezzled wealth. The trick is knowing when to flee into-exile without tipping off the people who will be left holding the bag.

> But today, Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai insists that foreign intelligence agencies are responsible for the Serena attack.
Reminds me of the simpletons who insisted that the nationwide Ukrainian rejection of Putin’s Russian puppet regime were all Soros-funded CIA-armed Nazis.
