I wouldn’t really care if someone stood up at the beginning of four years and said the whole travel budget for the President and family was “X”, to include the helpers, the secret service, etc. So for four years....you have a budget and you kinda have to stay within that. This whole footprint ensemble crew is a joke now. You’ve got secret service standing on the ground...mostly waiting for any problems to occur but otherwise, they simply stand back at the base and pretend to work.

When you get around to paying $8000 a night for some hotel room....there’s something wrong. I basically paid my entire income tax bill for 2012...for her one night at the hotel.

When Fidel Castro visited NY City after taking power in Cuba he played the role of a revolutionary by staying for a stint in a Harlem hotel. It was very disingenuous of Fidel because he was living light years better than the average Cuban there and usually when he traveled but at least he cared enough to make the propaganda ploy. NOT our First “Lady”! One can still get a first class hotel room in most towns for a humble amount like $480 or so. Or get a clean basic room for $80 or less like most humanoids. Or slum it like Fidel and stay at the Hospedaje Mundial for 12 Quetzales per night.
