“I’ve fallen and I can’t get up.”

My husband actually used that statement for real one time. One of his legs was not working and he tipped over his chair and landed on the floor. He was not hurt but he could not get up and I couldn’t lift him. He said to give him the phone, so I did.

He called 911 and said, “This is for real - I have fallen and I can’t get up.” There was a brief silence before the 911 person said, “Are you hurt?” He said no, he was on the floor watching TV but couldn’t get up. Finally, the 911 person was laughing with him and an ambulance did come and two strong EMT sorts came in and lifted him up on the chair. We were apologetic they had to come but they said that is part of their job, to help people in trouble and if we needed them again to call.

“I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” is a for real thing some times. :o)

If he is taking Zocor or a similar cholesterol drug, that is why.

Read the side effects to one of those on a drug info site.

My husband fell about a month ago and couldn't get up, even with my help. I called our next door neighbor at 4am and he was here in 5 minutes and got him up.

That is a GOOD neighbor, rite there. :)
