The U.S. National Security Agency has infiltrated servers in the headquarters of Chinese telecommunications and internet giant Huawei Technologies Co, obtaining sensitive information and monitoring the communications of top executives, the New York Times reported on Saturday.
The newspaper said its report on the operation, code-named "Shotgiant," was based on NSA documents provided by Edward Snowden, the former agency contractor who since last year has leaked data revealing sweeping U.S. surveillance activities. The German magazine Der Spiegel also reported on the documents.
One of the goals of the operation was to find any connections between Huawei and the Chinese People's Liberation Army, according to a 2010 document cited by the Times.
But the newspaper said the operation also sought to exploit Huawei's technology. It reported that the NSA aimed to conduct surveillance through computer and telephone networks Huawei sold to other nations. If ordered by the U.S. president, the NSA also planned to unleash offensive cyber operations, it said.

Ha ha. . great timing for this to come out. . .maybe Michelle and the girls can take that up with the Chinese! I’m sure they would love to discuss it.
Bush would probably have ordered Snowden killed. Obama’s waffling around has done untold harm to the nation’s intel capabilities.
Isn’t that what the NSA is supposed to do instead of spying on US citizens?
My thought.
For once they’re concentrating on their charter instead of trying to outdo Janet Napolitano.
Well, it’s about time....

A story like this is dropped time sensitive...and this did.
Now imagine Red China gets red with Black Mama and grounds her activity for say 2 days
Forget that lost airplane.....This would own news for 24/7 anywhere aluminum foil gets a signal
Except ,don't forget that airplane. Seriously.
That plane , weaponized , well...we know.....now seat hostages ....yeah.
Which hostages ? Their advantage, they know, we do not
Now, 2 outcomes.....it's a bomb and all die or plane is seen in flight, terrorists take claim and all news tin foil available will have the aerial boom boom shoot down live on air
then what ?
NSA gains access to ChiCom servers and finds that ChiCom servers have gained access to NSA Servers. A digital black hole ensues and both networks are consumed into a spaghetti of 0’s and 1’s.
Yes, but they aren't supposed to get caught doing it. :)
And the NYT is faithful to also spill sensitive and damaging classified data. Fifth column.
I’m convinced Snowden is the underlying reason for Putin’s recent aggressive behavior. He knows a lot of information from Snowden that is being used against us.
He pulled a similar stunt against Georgia back in 2008, well before Snowden’s revelations. The failure to stand up for Georgia then is the main reason he has felt bold enough to do this. The next so-called ‘red line’ will be to do the same thing to one of the Baltic Nato Members. He has already been making aggressive inroads towards Britain’s airspace and territorial waters. This will get worse unless the response is robust enough to deter him. The west needs to allow Ukraine to purchase on credit the modern weaponary from the west, and help them integrate it ASAP. He would never have dared annex the Crimea if Ukraine had either A) had the nukes we took off them or B) a modern well-equipped military to act as a deterrent.

Snowden probably gave the Chicoms this information long ago, while he was in Hong Kong.
