Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia -- China has new satellite images showing a large object floating in the southern Indian Ocean, and will be sending ships to verify, the Malaysian transport minister said Saturday.
The object is 22.5 meters long and 13 meters wide, (74 feet by 43 feet ), Hishammuddin Hussein announced. He told reporters he'd just gotten the information, and China will release more details in the "coming hours."

Looks like container ship garbage. All this lost plane news is is a diversion to keep the feds out of the monitoring of political news business. Les political news = fewer dings against the FCC license to broadcast. Survival tactic = give the people junk news since they won’t complain and don’t know real news when they hear it.
The only way that a piece that large would still exist is if someone had attempted a landing on water. Which is highly unlikely.
Same size and shape as the Aussie image and is about 80 surface miles SSW from the Aussie image. ABC news says this one is 4 days old so I would say it is the same thing.
Why send a ship?
P3 may be a bit quicker
They say ships are on the scene very soon, possibly within the hour.
It is an evacuation slide or slides. Do a Google search on “777 evacuation slides”. Although the dimensions given to the news media, 20m x 13m seem too large, they could also be in error per the rest of the data Malyasia gives out. The slide from a distance would appear as an “extended U”. The 777 evacution slide photos on google show them to be about 20m x 5m. The “relative dimensions” as seen on the Chinese photo show it to be a slide. If it is a slide there could have been survivors.
Chinese satellites have spotted a new object in the southern Indian Ocean
that could be wreckage from a missing Malaysian airliner carrying 239 people, and
ships are on their way to investigate, China and Malaysia said on Saturday.
The object, around 22 metres long (74ft) and 13 metres (43ft) wide, was spotted
early on March 18 around 120 km (75 miles) from a location where possible debris was
sighted by another satellite on March 16 in the remote ocean off western Australia,
China’s State Administration of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense
(SASTIND) said on its website.
The Chinese sighting was first revealed by Malaysia’s Defence Minister and acting
Transport Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, who was handed a note with details during a
news conference in Kuala Lumpur.
“Chinese ships have been dispatched to the area,” Hishammuddin said.
China said an image of the object had been captured by its high-definition earth observation
satellite “Gaofen-1”. The location was south by west of the possible debris announced by
Australia on Thursday, SASTIND said.
Its also a convenient distraction from many other things, including giving up control of the Internet.
The only problem I see with that and survivors is I believe those slides come with some form of communication equipment or distress beacons, even if they are empty they should still have activated radio beacons.
Why am I thinking the Chinese will come up with a plane even if it means shooting down another one?...
I’m sensing a massive class action lawsuit on Malaysia Airlines.
Thanks. Graphic helps

I bet “Zombie Plane” will be the judgement call on this, because it will sell sensational headlines for the next month.
