Wasn’t Duke University the place where a professor was pimping his adopted son? I’m not here to boast, because in Delaware, where I most recently lived, we have rampant per capita HIV infections (#1 state in the nation on a per capita basis). It’s not my home anymore, as now I live in Valley Forge, but I have a bad gut feeling something bad will turn up here too, in a matter of time, then there’s Philly...

Duke University official offered adopted son for sex

... During an Internet chat, Lombard allegedly offered the child to the person he was chatting with, who was a task force officer from Washington's Metropolitan Police, the FBI said in a statement. The chat was initiated after a confidential source facing child pornography charges told authorities they had witnessed a man, allegedly Lombard, performing sex acts on a child over the Internet. During the chat, according to the complaint filed against Lombard, he told the officer that he had performed multiple sex acts on the boy and that the officer could do the same...

The gay perp and his live-in co-dad were white. The child was black. In another interview, Lombard said he adopted a black child because it would be easier to obtain one. Al Sharpton, of Duke Lacrosse Hoax fame, remained silent on that racist point.

Lombard, whose online name was "pervdad", was a youth leader in his local Episcopal Church, in addition to his paid postion at Duke as associate director of Duke's Center for Health Policy.

Even though he raped his own child, ostensibly perpetrated fraud by promising to be an appropriate adoptive parent, and made child porn videos of his abuse of his adopted son, Lombard was sentenced to a mere 27 years. Considering that the threat of gay sex would have little impact on his life behind bars, he will probably get out for good behavior when the child is approaching college age, assuming a competent family has been found to foster and rehabilitate that gravely injured child.
