Which is it? Are the Koch brothers the largest land owner in Canadas oil sands or not? The two reporters who worked on the same article dont seem to agree. In fact, the original article was such a mess, the Washington Post today ran a follow-up piece headlined, Why we wrote about the Koch Industries and its leases in Canadas oil sands.
Credit for that critical second look goes to John Hinderaker of Powerline, who thoroughly debunked the Posts original piece, concluding that the Post relied uncritically on a goofball far-left report provided by the anti-Keystone XL pipeline activist group the International Forum on Globalization. Why rely so heavily on numbers provided by the IFG? Because the Koch brothers, thats why.Which is it? Are the Koch brothers the largest land owner in Canadas oil sands or not? The International Forum for Globalization is an international marxist organization. There might be some information on it at www.keywiki.org and www.DiscoverTheNetwork.org, as well as www.wikipedia.
The problem is, you have to know who the people are you are involved with the IFG (i.e. their marxist/communist affiliations as well as their groups).
Once you do this, you’ll understand just who they really are and what they are up to.
They are all great except Paul Mirengoff. Who is a beltway doofus.

The Posts conclusion from all of this mess?
The Powerline article itself, and its tone, is strong evidence that issues surrounding the Koch brothers political and business interests will stir and inflame public debate in this election year. Thats why we wrote the piece.
In other words, the article, though fake, is accurate, since it stirs and inflames public debate. That's what we (the Post) intended to do, we did it and therefore accomplished our objective. "That's why we wrote the article", to stir and inflame public debate.
The Post shows no remorse for its lies. Far from it, they celebrate it.
That's what the public gets when it reads the Post: deliberate, intentional lies, a trait that it celebrates and is proud of.
Why we wrote about the Koch Industries and its leases in Canadas oil sands.........................
This headline is not much of an apology or admission of publishing lies.
Rule #1: Choose your battles wisely.
The Power of the pen is NOT mightier than the power of a check book; especaially a check book with a balance of one billion smack-a-roos. Idiots!
“We lied to spur debate.
That people have reacted so strongly to our lie
proves it to be an important fabrication
going forward into this election year.”
