Quoting unnamed administration officials, CNN host Jake Tapper revealed that the White House is concerned that Russia could invade South and East Ukraine possibly as soon as this weekend. He said that, in spite of Russias assurances that the large numbers of troops and military equipment amassed along the Ukrainian border are there merely for training exercises, the White House believes that Moscow could be planning a broader incursion into Ukraine.
There is now real apprehension that Vladimir Putin could push even further into Ukraine, perhaps as soon as this weekend, Tapper said. He quoted anonymous administration officials who are concerned that the Russians are not being honest when they claim that the troops stationed along the Ukrainian border are not preparing for an invasion.
Russian officials have assured the administration that they are only conducting military exercises. But, Obama administration officials have received intelligence suggesting there is reason to be skeptical of Russias claims,Tapper continued, and that Russia, as soon as in the coming days, could use any number of pretexts to justify pushing its military incursions deeper into Ukraine.
The CNN host added that such an invasion could be carried out by Russia so quickly that Western nations would barely have the opportunity to raise objections over it.

I’ve forgotten the link: Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey Pyatt scheming to influence political events in Ukraine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbOwfeoDX2o#t=11
The best joke of all is that the Obama administration spent $5 billions in Ukraine
“They might as well have sent the check directly to Putin.”
As you say. They could credit directly Putin’s bank account. Less trouble. :)
No one in the Beltway gave a damn that Viktor Yanukovich was legally elected president of Ukraine, and that he had full authority to reject a dodgy deal with the EU.
Princeton's professor Stephen Cohen stressed that Nulandgate "was that high-level US officials were plotting to 'midwife' a new, anti-Russian Ukrainian government by ousting or neutralizing its democratically elected president - that is, a coup d'etat".
What country are you from?
The opinion of majority of Ukranians was Yankuvich was a fraudulently elected criminal who was bleeding their country’s treasury dry. He suspended their rights and was acting as a dictator. But you can go ahead with the neo-Nazi angle if that’s what you want to believe. Just curious, what is your home country?
That number was the amount that the State Dept. has spent trying to influence politics in Ukraine since the USSR broke up.
Same thing.
there are such things as AA missiles. A10 would have a short combat life expectancy in the theatre.
The Obamas and Ukrainian President Yanukovich were rather chummy in 2012. It was only after Yanukovich halted the process of joining the globalist European Union that he suddenly became an "enemy of America".
Obama: "I declare the referendum in Crimea illegal". The people of Crimea reply: "FUBO!"
Victoria Nuland is married to Robert Kagan, one of the founders of neocon think tank Project for a New American Century and more recently the Foreign Policy Initiative .
And a mail order prostitute or two.
The isolationist Liberaltarian Paulians are there allies. Ironic and funny stuff.
Tell me, where have most everyone here on Free Republic been getting their news about the Ukraine situation from? Is this is the same media that we detest for skewing coverage of events by not covering certain stories that don't fit their worldview?
Yeah, I joined in 1999 so I could push stories that were pro-Putin. We had it all planned out for 15 years.
If you're not pro-Putin then I'm not talking about you.
I wonder if it is too late for the Ukrainian people to back out of the EU deal? They are going to be furious when they get their IMF haircut on their bank accounts and large increase in energy costs. Plus when they find out about the EU/IMF imposed regulations that have been estimated to cost billions of dollars to implement. Oh, we have no money? That’s OK, we’ll loan it to you.
They should take it from those who have first hand experience with the EU.

Like I said, there are lots of RonPaulian conspiracy isolationist nuts that are allied with the Russians.
LOL, at least the Russians are in the ball game. The Paulians are mere useful idiots.
“Yeah, I joined in 1999 so I could push stories that were pro-Putin. We had it all planned out for 15 years.”
Putin was elected president of Russia for his first term in 2000.
You must had seen it coming :-)
It’s not our fight, it’s past time to let Europe fix its own messes, especially as it appears EU agitation was behind a lot of the events in Kiev leading up to this.
