Johnny Manziel, LeBron James in new McDonald's commercial

Once former Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel started hanging out with LeBron James and texting him for advice, it was only a matter of time before the two ended up doing something big together.

That time is, apparently, here.

The world's best basketball player is the subject of a new television campaign by McDonald's in which he, not surprisingly, ends up running into Manziel hanging out in an exclusive spot.

Apparently yesterday, LeBron James did a promo event by "surprising" everyone at a Miami Beach McDonald's....it has been "news" all morning in Miami.....and oh by the way, LeBron has a new flavor of SPRITE COLA named after him, and THAT is "news" today too......

What a coincidence.

I hope that prick gets a bone jarring welcome to the NFL by the likes of Chris Long, Robert Quinn, JJ Watt or London Fletcher. He really needs to get some humility and grow up.

Why is this thugball player news in any way shape or form?

Did Lebron start touting Obamacare again?

Anybody see the irony here? Within the span of a few days, LeBron is hawking Obamacare, followed by doing another commercial for McDonalds.

Lol, just for your information, millions of Texans and Americans love the guy. He is a fierce competitor on the field and probably the greatest football player to ever walk on the field in College Station. Moreover, I have seen him in many public service and charitable announcements as well. He is a Franchise player. Fans of his future team (the Houston Texans!) will love him.

Now, there is no denying he has popped off a few times and, yes, needs to grow up a little and a little “hello NFL hit” might do him some good; but, I hope you are not suggesting that he get permanently injured cuz millions of Texans would take serious exception with you to that.

Agree completely. I’ve been to Kyle Field and seen this guy in action several times and all I can say is that he is a once in a generation type player. Nobody has a clue what JFB’s ultimate ceiling is at this point.

I think Manziel is going to learn the hard way that NFL competition is much different than NCAA.

Among other things, he needs to learn to stay in the pocket if he's going to have any success.

I wouldn't draft him in the 1st or 2nd rounds.

He’ll win fewer playoff games than Tebow.

When I hear "He needs to grow up" I always wonder, what is expected of a 19, 20 year old?

Sure Johnny has made some dumb decisions. How many 19 year olds haven't...how many have won the Heisman trophy? And he's never been accused of sexual assault!

Last night on Houston 10 o'clock news, they showed Johnny at a Rockets game sitting with Arian Foster. Foster is the Texans top running back...and the story was Manziel at a Rockets game.

Most people who criticize JM have never met him but are repeating the same stories over and over. Just like the media.

I agree. Of course, big stars are big targets, and that comes with the fame. The guy did amazing things on a college football field. Also, gasp, he went frat parties as a college student...oh, the humanity.

He’s a rich kid with huge success, so yes, his ego is huge and he’s done some dumb things. I am pretty sure I did dumber things at his age, but without the microscope.

I don’t have high hopes for him in the NFL, but hope he does well. He’s an amazing quarterback...at least at the collegiate level.

Ridiculous. James is a 2-time champ and multiple MVP. Manziel has done NOTHING. Why pair them?

.......on his best days and in a close game Johnny Football is, in my opinion, the most exciting player EVER to watch!

Anyone who doubts the veracity and toughness of this young man MUCT view this video. NO NFL QUARTERBACK IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME would even try to do what Manziel does here.
