Honolulu police officers have urged lawmakers to keep an exemption in state law that allows undercover officers to have sex with prostitutes during investigations, touching off a heated debate.
Authorities say they need the legal protection to catch lawbreakers in the act. Critics, including human trafficking experts and other police, say its unnecessary and could further victimize sex workers, many of whom have been forced into the trade.

tiny bubbles,
On your gland,
Tiny bubbles,
feel weird against my hand.
Tiny bubbles,
Drank too much wine
Make me sick
Make me feel stay at home.
Tiny bubbles
Make me warm all over
With a feeling that I’m gonna
stay with you till the end of time
So here’s to the golden pee
And here’s to the silver colloid
And mostly here’s a painful memory
To you and me
So here’s to the ginger lei
I give to you today
And here’s a kiss
That will not fade away
Like bad luggage,
Tiny bubbles,
Never go away...
That’s gotta suck...
Is it because the sex act when filmed acquires the constitutional protection of the First Amendment? That is not vitiated by the fact that the actors are paid. The sex act between consenting adults in private is constitutionally protected, why is that protection lost when the actors are paid?
Surely, the associated social ills alleged to be the byproduct of prostitution such as exploitation, spread of disease, degradation of morals generally, are all to be found in filming porn. And what about the additional social degradation which occurs from the fact that the porn is published while the act of prostitution for hire is presumably done in private?
The legalization of prostitution, like the legalization of drugs, and the general acceptance of homosexuality, whether for good or ill, is inevitable and we should get on with it. That is not to say that these activities are in themselves desirable it is to say that the criminalization of these activities is more harmful to society then to tolerate and regulate them.
I concur.
Makes you wonder how they catch pedophiles.
I suspect that most of the child porn circulating on-line was originally placed there by the FBI.
Twisted logic
“Detective, have you arrested those prostitutes yet?”
“No sir, still gathering evidence...might take a few more boinks er I mean a little more surveillance...”
“Hi Babe, sorry working late tonight. Taking a shower before going to bed.”
See my posting #7. The gay male prostitutes are gonna sue and claim discrimination...just you wait! (/s)
I need to join Hawaii Vice.
Worker’s Comp claims for antibiotic shots?
At least the cop got to go home sated at the end of his shift.
Me, I'd rather sleep naked in a dumpster in January.
Happy Syphillis, officers!
Who knows? Maybe another President from Hawaii may come of it.
In a tyranny, everyone is a criminal, except the government or anyone who works for the government or is part of the government.
In a tyranny, the real criminals are The Law.
What a sad joke.
When the law serves no purpose other than to leave a stain on all involved.. wellll...
What do they do, take a selfie for proof?
