There is an easy 'trick' for that if you find it hard to read. 'Right click' on her page and click "select all". It will highlight all text and make it easier to read. Her page seems to highlight well, some - like Free Republic, put a dark blue behind white text.
I agree that she needs to contrast her text/background more.
I dropped her an email suggesting a re-do in that department.
