You could be right on this MrB - your theory explains much of the strangeness about liberal ‘solutions’. Also shows how and why so many liberal ideas fail while ‘appearing’ to come from people of good will. One more puzzle piece - thanks.

If you want to explore it further, read Sowell’s Conflict of Visions.

I’ve since done a lot of worldview study, and I’m fairly well convinced of my theory. And it’s definitely spiritual/cosmic battle in nature.

The “basic wrong assumption” that they have is about the nature of Man. The Real condition of Man is “fallen” and sinful. Evil comes from within the man.

The liberal/left/humanist assumption of the condition of Man is that his nature is “basically good”. In order to explain his evil behavior, they have to attribute it to external causes. This leads, “logically”, to the assumption that evil behavior is in response to environment, and if we could just change that environment, Man would behave according to his “basically good” nature.

This leads the liberal to always side with evil over good, failed cultures over successful, bad behavior over moral behavior, and communism over free markets.
