‘Gun’ Tattoo Mistakenly Brings Heavily Armed Police To Maine Man’s Home

NORRIDGEWOCK, Maine (AP) — Police armed with assault rifles descended on a Maine man’s home after members of a tree removal crew he’d told to clear off his property reported that he had a gun.
Turns out the “gun” the tree crew had seen on Michael Smith of Norridgewock was just a life-sized tattoo of a handgun on his stomach.

With it tattooed to his hide, he certainly threatened no one with it.
What justification did the LEOs have for even responding to the tree-butchers' call?

Do you need a Permit to Carry Concealed on your own Private Property now? That would be a new one ...don't know?
I live in the Peoples Republic of NY.
all carry is concealed. carry permits in most counties have caveats, like you can carry concealed on your way to hunting or to a range...(if you have a range pass to a 24 hour range you can conceivably carry all the time and say you were planning a range trip shortly...well that is what many people I know use to justify carrying all the time)
there is brandishing laws here. this would include having someone SEE your tucked in handgun because your shirt failed to cover it....so if you are standing on your front lawn with your weapon showing and a passerby felt threatened that could conceivably get you arrested
don't know if Maine has that kind of law....
