I forgive those who want to be forgiven.

what??? My feelings are shot. Man, i wanted to be forgiven so much from you. From some hypocrite to start attacking another Freeper from nowhere after we just started to ignore each other for such a nice splendid time, that means a lot to me. s/

I have recently discovered (in real life mind you) that it is quite useful to “forgive” even those who don’t ask for forgiveness.

Two reasons: one, it liberates one from the cancerous contempt (not to mention hate) that is inevitably associated with unresolved conflict. Anyone who insists, “it doesn’t bother me” is lying.

Two, it’s ok to say to yourself, “I forgive this person, first for not asking forgiveness from me”, because that (not asking for forgiveness from someone you wronged) too is a sin against God and you. So it’s not being unjust or uncharitable, to indeed forgive someone who hasn’t asked you for forgiveness. In fact it’s both charitable and just.

Just an experience I thought I’d share because I believe you can be reasonable.
