Kiev (AFP) - Ukraine's acting president on Wednesday said Crimea's separatist leaders had three hours to release the detained head of the ex-Soviet state's navy or face "an adequate response".
Acting president Oleksandr Turchynov said in a statement that "unless Admiral (Sergiy) Gayduk and all the other hostages -- both military and civilian ones -- are released, the authorities will carry out an adequate response... of a technical and technological nature."

It takes one to know one.
Let us know when you'll be breaking out the champagne.
There’s a few like this poster on FR who are gung ho at slamming anything remotely suggesting, (int their minds) any here are favoring Putin. They don’t seem to appreciate discussion nor debate.....
For me I think thus far Crimea and Ukraine..and actually Putin are conducting themselves very well in Crimea when you consider all the moving parts. At any rate Crimea was a done deal two weeks ago...now just a matter of transferring it all under Russian authority.....
Apparently Putin has stated the entire operation is marked to take a year...expected completion by Jan. 15, 2015..or there abouts.
The Ukrainians made the civilized decision to withdraw. They are facing a pansy in Putin who is willing to invade his neighbor with soldiers with no insignia, naval blockade without a declaration of war, etc., etc.
When Ukraine has a foe that will stoop to this level of faggotry, they must act to preserve life. Russia can be happy living in the 1970’s now. Ukraine will now orient west and disassociate with the sad caricature of the USSR that Russia has become under Putin.
Those guys are Slovaks, from Bratislava.
"
Or did Clinton make them an offer they couldn't refuse?
Look for Russian ships to dock in the Port of Havana real soon.
I do feel for the Ukraine Military....it’s been said many of them are confused and wonder why there was no resistance at all...as if Ukraine simply folded.
Look at the guys face in the upper right corner...sad day for them...they lost something they weren’t given a chance to fight for in Crimea.
.....” Once it was clear that they were going to lose Crimea Ukraine should have pulled their troops”....
Couldn’t have with the Gov. Administration Ukraine has now....no expereince in handling the Gov. let alone this situation...especially when you have the PM in WAshington claiming they’ll never give up to a million or so viewers.
Too many mixed signals coming from Ulkraine’s Gov. for the people to know what’s going on.
Not to mention they were just informed this week that social services would be cut in order to finance their Military defense.....much distrust and fear now on the streets of Ukraine...and no control there.
Heroes of the motherland with their faces covered like jihadis. What a bunch of pansies.
You need to get off your high horse and realize nobody’s supporting Putin.....people are simply commenting on what they see and hear as the situation developes in that part of the world....but with that realize that the US/EU are not going to redeem Crimea...that was done two weeks ago.
Ukraine is in a heap of chaos because their thug government cannot control the people there...they’re paying the price for allowing the thuggary in Governance and on the streets that they put there....
Was recently reading of a EuroMaiden supporter who began to see clearly the Right Groups beginning the violence during the protests as she watched them attack unarmed police and gov. officals first hand. The Nazi influence was overwhelming her as she knew the history, and more and more this became apparent to her and others.
She left the Euromaiden and is now in Crimea truly upset with the EU and USA and realized they were not going to be good for Ukrainians and that US/EU who were suppose to be helping Ukraine were in fact the very ones installing this bogus Gov. Further that she saw Ukraine would go the same as the other Baltic states the EU had abondoned once they handed their country over to the EU.
She is one of many now who are seeking to leave Ukraine....it remains to be seen what is left of the people...but they are certainly not protecting the people on the street and many incidents of violence against the citizens from the Right Groups there.

Umm, some of them did fawn over the tyrants. They were a significant number and were called the Loyalists.
They probably felt a lot like those Polish soldiers on September 17th, 1939.
