Oh they know where it is.
My guess
Check out who owns it and when its used

Wow, this plane really has a mind of its own.
Loud noise means engines were running-— it still had fuel.
One day a hunter will find it.
Or a fisherman with his net.
What would a terrorist do with a jet plane? Enter US or Isreli airspace, unnanounced, only to be shot down? I think it would be quite a different scenario. They would loudly announce themselves, claim that they were abducted and held by the US military at Diego Garcia and the pilot was killed, then request to land somewhere populated, claiming they were out of fuel. It would be the co-pilot in his best frantic voice.
It’s a lose lose. Shoot it down, and potenially kill hundreds of Chinese citizens (who are already dead) Don’t shoot it down, and it turns out to be rigged with explosives. Either way tensions with China would rise, and incite them to save face, perhaps by taking Tawain or some Japanese islands that they’ve long had designs on.
If the Uighers (sp) had anything to do with this, the scenario would have the same effect, driving a wedge between the US and China, and potentially starting some hot action between the two that would also inspire this small group to coordinate attacks inside China while she was dealing with an outraged populace.
i think you all will find out it is known to have landed in Pakistan. This is also why Israel is on such high alert recently. Trust me.
Ah, the tailgating scenario! Making like MH370 is taking on fuel from SQ68! One transponder response, one (slightly brighter) blip!
Sweet idea, but probably not necessary. And too nerve-wracking, anyway. Wog ground radar operators being grossly overestimated, if they were even on the job.
Did anybody else hear the former general on Hannity tonight? he said it’s in Pakistan and we should know something in 24-48 hours.
"The official, who has been briefed on the investigation, said the programmed change in direction was entered at least 12 minutes before the plane's co-pilot signed off to air traffic controllers, telling them, "All right, good night."
Shortly thereafter the other systems were shut down.
I'm sure the 777 landed at DG and the base hasn't noticed yet. /sarc
OTOH, I'm positive that intelligence and in particular the NRO knew within a few seconds or minutes if the aircraft landed in a controlled manner or crashed on land. But I'm not so sure they could detect a fairly clean nose-in plunge into deep water, unless they were already monitoring the flight progress and it suddenly disappeared. Debris would float to the surface but most would be miniscule.
Malaysia Airlines is state owned and run.
Expect incompetence and expect the media to overlook it.
Remember the Chilean miners? Did the media criticize the mine? No, it was state owned and the media (socialist) does not criticize government as a matter of coarse...so the hoopla became about the rescue. Hooray, for the rescue! But...if say the Koch Brothers owned that mine...look out, the media would call for them to be executed on day two.
