The first opponent is the left. They still call us the “Tea Party,” though we rarely use that term anymore. It’s fun to hear the liberals say it – it’s like listening to grandparents trying to sound cool. Yeah, those hepcats are sure hip with their cool jive, daddy-o.
Every day, the lefty punditry opines about the Tea Party’s death spiral. And every day, the Tea Party refuses to crash and burn.
We conservative insurgents have another opponent, but this opponent recognizes us for exactly what we are – a dangerous, existential threat. This opponent is the GOP Establishment, and its members hate and fear us for entirely different reasons.
They want to gather power within Washington then redistribute it after they take their cut. We want to re-wire the system so that Washington is left off the grid to wither back down to the miserable backwater it used to be – and should be.
D.C. is awesomely wealthy, full of fine clothes, sumptuous food, gleaming restaurants, and much more attractive people than when I interned there in 1986. The recession missed Washington, a town that produces nothing except problems for the rest of America yet is better off than anywhere else in America.
We want to end that. That we want to destroy the cushy status quo is why the GOP Establishment hates us. That we can influence elections is why it fears us.

If I’m not mistaken, the author of this article, Kurt Schlichter, is the law partner of Hugh Hewitt.
Hugh just finished an on-air interview with _Q. Sullivan,from a Dallas, TX publication.
Sullivan just detailed how the TX GOPe, tried and failed to unseat 3 Tea Party conservatives, in the TX House, while conservatives were successful in ousting 6 of 7 GOPe RINOs, in TX.

I believe in my heart of hearts that there is at least 5 people voting the TEA party slate for every one proclaiming it out loud. As long as I’m in the shadows I’m not the target, the establishment is.
Well as long as we have people on the right running around defending the Rand Pauls and Rick Perry’s as ‘conservatives’ after their recent outing as Mitch backers, the crash of the GOPe could take a while. Since conservatives seem to have so many diehard GOPe supporters right in our own ranks.
Wonder what is more important to folks. Their online ‘buddies’ or their country. Eventually people have to choose.
The reason why the GOP-e doesn’t like conservatives is at my tag line.

Well, here’s a test. If the Tea Party can’t get behind ONE candidate instead of splitting the vote and letting Lindsay Graham win his primary, it may as well be dead.
Stupid ideological purity wars aren’t going to get our nation out of the dire trouble it is in. Winning elections will. And the TP better start to act like it.
The only reason they like the term "TEA Party" is because it's easy for them to twist it into "teabagging," a vulgar term for a very disgusting homosexual act. They think it's funny. Remember how Anderson Gay and Wolf Blitzed laughed and laughed at calling us that?

How many times must it be said? SC requires a candidate to get over 50% of the vote or face a runoff. It doesn’t matter how many candidates oppose Linda, if collectively they can chew more than 50% off, then they are naturally united behind the one candidate that goes to runoff. Ask Ted Cruz if it’s possible to get into office that way.

The opposite of purity is corruption. How much corruption if OK Illegals? Gays? Gutted military? Conservative ‘Purity” isn’t difficult. It’s actually a pretty low bar. Yet it’s one that most can’t seem to crawl over.
Want a “Win”? At what cost? The last ‘winner’ got beat by an illegal muslim with no history and a lot of negatives.

Conservatives need to be crystal clear, based of all things on the lesson of Iraq.
When the US invaded and conquered Iraq, it tried to rebuild it in two ways. The first, which always failed, was to try and repair the failed existing systems. The other way, that generally worked, was to throw out the old system and replace it with one that was known to work.
Right now, back in the US, we know that Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Obamacare, and many other largess programs are unsustainable failures that are crippling our country. And while we cannot halt them outright, we can strip the federal government of power over them, which is the first step to their replacement.
For example, instead of giant federal bureaucracies, the programs should be made into block grants to the states, with minimal federal oversight. This alone will double their efficiency.
Second, payment into these systems should not be separate in any way from the tax system. But instead of “means testing”, that nobody really wants, a better deal is to offer tax abatement to those who *don’t* use the system because that saves them more money.
Another principle should be to make all of it entirely voluntary. That citizens should be able to opt out of paying into the systems in the first place, in exchange for which they get nothing out of the systems later. This means that eventually these systems will starve to death.
And “opt outs” should be permanent, that is, after you choose opt out, you *cannot* be forced into the system. You are free of it for the rest of your life.
That, sounds like....something.

And so apparent in the liberal gold as in today’s WaPo article by th Yale educated Dana mil a k who, in his rhetorical query on why the millennialist reject Obama, strained with, it’s because the entire generation cannot stay with a cause. They are wrong and BO is right.

Under their tuition, the Indian-fighting Army never exceeded about 80,000 men (for a continent), who were sprinkled porkchoppingly in tiny posts all around ..... Republican congressional districts. George S. Patton served his butterbar lieutenantcy in a tiny cavalry post in .... Illinois. He finally broke out and went to Fort Riley, Kansas, a lot closer to the real Army. But thousands of his peers served out their careers in porkchop Army dumps in Congressman Foghorn Leghorn's district.
After World War I, Eisenhower and Patton were practically unemployed, and the Army reverted to its Indian-fighting size while predators stalked Europe and Asia both, and holdover deadwood officers who'd learned how to "serve" in the old prewar Army went back to ass-covering and brain-dead file-papering games, and they prospered until 1941 ..... when the Army snapped to, with a war finally on its doorstep, and broomed them all.
If it hadn't been for Patton and Ike, the Army would have forgotten everything it had learned about tanks in World War I and would have been utterly helpless before the Wehrmacht.
Tiny defense appropriations were a hallmark of Old Guard Republicanism. No defense worth speaking of, high tariffs to protect my price structures and margins, and massive immigration to crush wages ..... and Chicago cops to crush unions before they could get started.
That was the Old School that called Main Street Republicans like us "Mugwumps", and laughed. Same old same-old. We raise issues, they just hire more young, amoral lawyers to keep Main Streeters away from the levers.
