Guinness pulls out of St. Pattys parade over LGBT ban
Guinness beer has pulled its sponsorship from New Yorks famed St. Patricks day parade over a controversial policy that prohibits gays and lesbians from marching openly, according to reports.
Guinness has a strong history of supporting diversity and being an advocate for equality for all, the company said in a statement on the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation website.
We were hopeful that the policy of exclusion would be reversed for this years parade. As this has not come to pass, Guinness has withdrawn its participation. We will continue to work with community leaders to ensure that future parades have an inclusionary policy.
The move came after the legendary gay bar, the Stonewall Inn, announced it would dump the beer from its shelves in protest of the parades anti-gay policy. The protest was cancelled after the Guinness announcement.

I pine for the day when these companies’ attempts to pander to the loud few (for business’ sake) wind up getting killed in their business/revenue due to their PC stances.
I just wish it was immediate: Make a dumb/pandering/PC decision...INSTANTLY see your business plummet.
I wish for that day....
BTW...Blue Ribbon is “hipster” all the way. Wouldn’t be surprised if “Colt 45” and “Pickle Tink” are on their list.
They prefer something with an umbrella in it.
“INSTANTLY see your business plummet.”
It didn’t take too long when Builders Emporium announced their anti-RKBA stance. Or for KMart to take a hit, or JC Penney. Staples stock showed an immediate drop until their apology.
Hold on, boycott personally, and expect State Run Media to hide any effect.
“Sadly, I believe I read Heineken also capitulated.”
Grab a Heinie has new meaning.

PBR really is not a bad beer, hipster or no, and despite low-price stigma. I’ve done blind tests with my brewclub and the general public cannot distinguish the difference between PBR, Miller, Bud. All of them use rice syrup as well as barley malt extract, along with some real grain.
And PBR so far does not care who marches in which parade.
Me, too. Except make mine a Bulleit. :-)
Because every public parade from now on has to include participants celebrating homosexual acts - bring the kids! Entertainment for the entire family! Have the orgy-makers got their own float at Disney World ... yet?
“Why would any gay want to promote St. Patrick in a parade in his honor?”
any chance to oil up and march in a$$less chaps and just look fabulous, darling! and think of the hookups after
The world organization of heterosexual people has decided to stop drinking queer beer or the products of any alcoholic beverage company that appeases sexual perverts. The goal is to stop faggotry and prevent child molestation.
Dog Fish Head or Harp it is then!
We make our own beer, ping.
“Sadly, I believe I read Heineken also capitulated.”
yup, my favorite beer. So yesterday, instead of buying my usual 12 of Heineken, I bought Guinness.
By the end of next week, the way the gays are winning, I’m guessing I’ll be down to Old Milwaukee.
I think Harp is made by Guinness. Smithwick’s also.

So let me get this straight, the beer companies are going to side with the 3 % and lose 97 % of beer sales from real men. Have they not been paying attention to J.C. Penney’s demise? If I were the CEO’s of those companies I’d be firing the idiots that made the decision to pull sponsorship. I ope it costs them their businesses.
All the while ignoring millions of AIDS deaths and HIV infections.
Genius, guinness
This speaks volumes.....
