There was also a $15 an hour rally of 10 to 15 people outside the Space Needle Thursday evening.

I'm guessing they were just random pot smokers wandering around.

Somebody tell them that $15 is not half enough. Raise Seattle’s minimum wage to $30/hour.

Human labor??? Too expensive!! Just put everyone on welfare and have them buy the stuff the machines make. Sustainable? Probably not, but who cares? Short-term thinking is what it’s all about, and right now driving low-skill workers out of the workforce sure seems like a swell idea! What could go wrong?

All this does is move the pay scale up, create wage-push inflation, and make American products less competitive internationally.

This is great! It’ll be just another in a great chain of Democrat initiatives that have the end result of screwing over all of the people who listened to and followed them.

Oh, I just love how socialists work tirelessly to increase the gap between the rich and the poor. It gives them more “social injustice” to whine about!

Not surprising since Seattle has a statue of Vladimir Lenin, one of the godfathers of communism and inspiration for Earth Day.

She is a complete nutcase. Seattle does this, and watch all the business flee to the east side of Lake Washington.

Somebody’s got to pay. Those who pay for the goods services taxes and anything tied to the cost of the minimum wage increase.
This spells INFLATION or currency devaluation. Bad for you bad for me bad for the country but evidently inconsequential to liberals.

[Idiot] Sa[v]ant said she needs to see progress on a $15 per hour minimum wage...

One result I can see happening from forcing the $15 per hour minimum wage is the natural suppression of raises above that rate. The people who were already making about $15 per hour or more simply won’t get a raise in the future. The rookies who just started working at the business got the money, instead. A workers’ paradise—everyone equal! (sarc)

I do think that the $15/hr will pass in Seattle...either thru the city Counsel or thru a public vote. I’ve stopped being surprised by how liberal Seattle has become and what the citizens vote ‘yes’ for...things I would never consider voting yes on.

One issue for the businesses in Seattle is there are very few places for people making min wage to $15 hour to live w/in the core of Seattle. And of course, there is no inexpensive parking available. Employees in those sort of jobs have to take a bus or ride a bike to get to their jobs. But isn’t that how it is in most large cities? My first job in Seattle required a bus ride into the city and I shared a house w/ several other women.

Raising wages to $15 is still not going to be enough to be able to afford Seattle housing. And I think the higher wage will hurt small businesses and will not really achieve the goals of being a ‘livable’ wage. IMO it just pushes the dial to higher prices for everything.

The national debt is nearly $18T. They must devalue the dollar to the point where this debt will amount to nothing.

She said if there is not significant progress soon she will start collecting signatures to put a minimum wage measure on the ballot.

Please go ahead...to put an end to this nonsense

Does she think business owners and ordinary citizens don't vote?

Anybody with half a brain knows a minimum wage at $15.00 an hour will increase the cost of just about everything in fast food, retail, small business...etc...
