If she’s in China, I don’t think she has anything to worry about, not from planes, at least. The Chinese military will certainly be watching its radar and surveillance systems, unlike the Malaysians (who apparently completely ignored the plane’s appearance on their radar that night - as it crossed their entire country).
She isn’t there yet, she leaves this week, if you want to humiliate the Chinese what better way than to cause an event while she is in route.
Just trying to figure out what the motive was to take this plane. Pure speculation.
