Yesterday South End restaurant Club Cafe announced that it would no longer serve Sam Adams due to the brewer's association with the parade. In an open letter on its facebook page Club Cafe stated that they were "disappointed that Sam Adams does not understand that the organizers of the St. Patrick's Day Parade continue to demonstrate that they do not respect LGBT Irish Americans by excluding LGBT members of this community from openly marching in the St.Patrick's Day Parade."
This morning Sam Adams released a statement that said, in part "We share these sentiments with Mayor Walsh, Congressman Lynch and others and therefore we will not participate in this years parade."

Another company caves. This is really getting tiresome. Why won’t anyone fight back as the “gays” force their immoral and unnatural lifestyle on the entire country?
Dog in the manger. If they can't have it, they'll make sure nobody else does, either.
Just how many “LGBT Irish Americans” are there? I mean they must be a significant demographic for this company to alienate the rest of their customers.
Face it, the gay agenda is being shoved down our throats. Its a global effort by the same people who are put bam bam in office.
I’m still trying to get an answer from these gay groups, just what exactly does the St. Patricks parade have to do with sexuality but so far I’ve gotten no reply. There’s different types of sexuality but for some reason gays feel the need to be obnoxious about theirs.
Here you can write them yourself. I asked them “What does the St. Pattys day parade have to do with sexuality and why would you think people would give a damn about what gets you off sexually? Today I took a sh*t, does that interest you? Then why would you think I give a damn about what gives you an orgasm?”

Bum Bandit Beer
OK, fine. If the business they pick up exceeds the business they’ll lose (mine, for one) then it was a sound decision. If not, well, feeling good doesn’t pay the rent.
Sam Adams (The Boston Beer Company) is a public company and probably controlled by the same people as Bud & Miller.
I guess local beers are the way to go.
Nobody’s going to care. There any numbers of bars along Broadway where other types of beer are available.
Probably because they don’t want to fight back.
IMO, until one of these companies gets to really get slammed financially, they will continue to roll over. I drink a beer or two very occasionally but be certain it will NEVER be a sam adams in the future.
“Its a global effort by the same people who are put bam bam in office.”
And they take delight in making any gathering, traditional or otherwise, distasteful to the degree that you or I will no longer participate.
I don’t drink either, never developed a taste. I would try making my own before buying as well.
I miss the good ole days of 70s and early 80s beer commercials, especially the less filling vs taste great ones.
Looks like this is a Koch guy Harry Reid can get behind!
And I will no longer purchase their beer. Which is too bad, because they make a good product.
Disagree. Their market is unaware of and/or indifferent to all this, so they lose nothing whatsoever by giving in to the bullies.
Queer beer?
“Pickle-sniffer Pilsner”
Yeah, I knew one definitely was.
