KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) -- A Malaysia Airlines plane sent signals to a satellite for four hours after the aircraft went missing, an indication that it was still flying for hundreds of miles or more, a U.S. official briefed on the search said Thursday.
Six days after the plane with 239 people aboard disappeared, Malaysian authorities expanded their search westward toward India, saying the aircraft may have flown for several hours after its last contact with the ground shortly after takeoff from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing.

Destination PAKISTAN? Iran?
This is wild. I await the facts.
JMHO..look in NW China..Rebels there.
Could the Ethiopians have started pirating airplanes since the ships are defended now?
and in Indonesia and Thailand and India and Pakistan and The Philippines...
Not enough fuel onboard to make it there.
If the Bad Actor was a gummint needing a delivery system then they’d simply BUY it —would arouse less suspicion.
So this MUST be some kind of insurgent group without access to a legit tax base.
So they stole it.
Destination: Davy Jones Locker
Not exactly breaking news.
KL to Beijing = 2700 miles straight-line distance.
Round that distance to 3,000, then add 20% for headwinds and air-traffic delays at destination.
So she was prolly loaded with fuel permitting a range of 3,600 miles or so...? A pro pilot could say more.
So their destination or a landing/re-fuel location is within 3,600 miles of KL.
THIS IS SO WEIRD!
twas the “weegers”.
So it had four hours of fuel left and transmitted signals to the satellite for four hours - suggesting it flew until it ran out of fuel.
I am the first to admit I know nothing about nothin’. But in four hours would it not have entered into another nation’s airspace ‘unexpectedly’? What happened if that nation tried to contact it?
I have a feeling this plane landed somewhere.
Finally a real solution to the problem,
Malaysia recruits witch doctors to find missing Boeing passenger jet
Just an area 5X the size of the US.
Somebody check “Kooba”.
That’s where they used to always go.
Here is an Emerati 777 doing a rapid stop:

Apparently it has an autobrake feature and the thrust reversers are known as being very robust.
Fly it like you stole it!
I doubt that the Weegers would want to go to Kooba.
