During a hearing on the State Departments 2015 budget, Ms. Landrieu, a Democrat who has been a strong pipeline proponent and faces a tough re-election fight this year, pressed Mr. Kerry to approve the project, which would carry crude from Canadas oil sands and from North Dakotas Bakken Shale Formation to Gulf Coast refineries.
Ms. Landrieu, the new chairwoman of the Senate Energy Committee, said, Canada is our closest, strongest trading partner, and a majority of American people support Keystone. It is hard for me to understand why there are still questions about whether building this pipeline is in our national interest, she said.
Mr. Kerry, who is currently reviewing whether the pipeline is in the national interest, assured Ms. Landrieu that he is looking at the issue objectively.
I understand its on a lot of peoples minds, a mean a lot of peoples, said Mr. Kerry, who noted that he has to review public comments along with his departments lengthy environmental impact report and must get feedback from eight different agencies.

Sure he does/sarc!
“a totally blank slate”... I assume he’s describing his brain.
if he only had a brain
Oh, the angst! How long must one debate the obvious?
He’s such a POS.
5 years of studying it and thinking about it, and all they have is a blank slate??? They are blank slates!
Well thank you, John. On the other hand, most of us are perfectly clear that you are a flaming idiot.
There is definitely something blank about his slate.
Well, Johnnyboy, I have to say that a blank slate is about all you do have to offer. BTT
The only thing blank about Kerry is his brain.
It will give this A$$HAT something to deflect when Russia tramples on his new RED LINE on Monday.
Much like his mind. Totally blank.
With a comment like that, the jokes make themselves. For many reasons, he’d be perfect in any remake of the’ Wizard of Oz’. He already comes “without a brain” and to see that face, you gotta think crows won’t even get close.
Blank stare maybe. His brain(?) is a blank slate. Or just a piece of slate.
Blah, Blah, Blah, I was in Vietnam.
Kerry: Im approaching the Keystone XL pipeline with a totally blank slate brain
I predict the pipeline gets approved before the election, and unapproved after, sort of like the nuclear power plant in Georgia.
Oh I could tell you why
The ocean’s near the shore
I could think of things I’ve never thought before
And then I’d stop - and think some more . . . .
