What would a president do if he were furious over criticism, or felt that his noble aims justified most means of attaining them?
Answer that by comparing the behavior of Richard Nixon to that of an increasingly similar Barack Obama.
Nixon tried to use the Internal Revenue Service to go after his political enemies -- although his IRS chiefs at least refused his orders to focus on liberals.
Nixon ignored settled law and picked and chose which statutes he would enforce -- from denying funds for the Clean Water Act to ignoring congressional subpoenas.
Nixon attacked TV networks and got into personal arguments with journalists such as CBS's Dan Rather.
Nixon wanted the Federal Communications Commission to hold up the licensing of some television stations on the basis of their political views.
Nixon went after "enemies." He ordered surveillance to hound his suspected political opponents and was paranoid about leaks.
Now, consider how President Obama has directed government, as opposed to the platitudes he has offered about how it should operate.

Nixon talked to two Americans on the Moon...
The media would never allow the Blessed Obama to be treated that way.
“Would you buy a Medical Insurance Policy from Obama?”
To borrow a paraphrase of the Nixon era question: “Would you buy a used car from this man?”
Nixon did not have a Federal bureaucracy that is in a symbiotic relationship with leftist political lobbying organizations, and that was dominated by those sharing his leftist ideology, who do not need to be commanded to attack political enemies, but know what to do without being told.
Nixon attacked TV networks and got into personal arguments with journalists such as CBS’s Dan Rather.
And this is a high crime and misdemeanor how?
Did he use the IRS or NSA, against the people?
This is insulting to Nixon. Obama has surpassed anything Nixon did.
Nixon at least had some honor - AND he was an American.
Nixon did not “try to use the Internal Revenue Service to go after his enemies.” He suggested that that might be in order. He was advised that it would not fly and he made no move to actually do it. Nixon was a Statist and an economic disaster but he did not do this.
In short, yes and no. The petty Dear Leader is far more corrupt, criminal and tyrannical than Nixon could have ever dreamed of. Yet he will not be held accountable for his actions by the Congress, whether it be democrats(they are to corrupt and complicit in his criminal activities) or republicans(they are too spineless to do anything but fall to the ground in a stupor and foam at the mouth) controlled and it’s all due to his race.
He is like the black mobs rampaging through the country now. Everyone knows what they are doing, the elected officials, law enforcement, media, citizenry. The mobs know and they know that because of their race nothing will be done about it.
Obama has set race relations back 40 yrs. So much for content of character...
Severus was such a historical figure, none of the Romans wanted to criticize him (and they'd get their heads cut off.)
Either Nixon or Kennedy or Clinton would suit me fine.
Nixon was a amateur against that arrogant pos
Victor Hansen’ here is doing a Nixon beats his wife hack hit piece which will be eagerly cited in MSM cable. Leveling charges but fails to cite specific examples to each charge which is what you would expect from a guy like Schultz but not Hansen. Why is he setting up a Nixon comparison ? Is it a leadup to the Obama impeachment process? Then he should be specific and cite examples demonstrating how one President wasn’t allowed machinations but another is.
Hey “Vic” !Go Back and get it right....
Shelia Jackson Lee talked to two on Mars!
Correct
But Nixon didn’t have the get out of jail free race card.
But Nixon loved America.
I will leave it at just that.
