Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D., Texas) declared the U.S. Constitution to be 400 years old Wednesday on the House floor, which would mean it was signed in 1614.
“Maybe I should offer a good thanks to the distinguished members of the majority, the Republicans, my chairman and others, for giving us an opportunity to have a deliberative constitutional discussion that reinforces the sanctity of this nation and how well it is that we have lasted some 400 years, operating under a constitution that clearly defines what is constitutional and what is not,” she said.
That would be seven years after Jamestown, Virginia became America’s first permanent English settlement.
Lee is off by only 173 years. It was adopted on Sep. 17, 1787.

She tried to get a plaque (sic?) on the walls in the House honoring Michael Jackson.
I would not be surprised to learn that she attended his funeral.

Just think and remember, this , whatever it is was put in office by majority vote. This, instead of an individual that has intelligence, good morals, good character and principles is what the voters of her district wish to have authority over them. Multiply her by 535 and the result is sickening, at least to me.

I bet those in the media who mocked Palin and Romney for their comments on Russia - that turned out to be true - will remai silent on this dumb comment.
The problem is that politicians have celebrity status among some people (liberals, mostly), not as employees hired to do a job. We’ve become too much an entertainment-based society. A clown may be funny, but you don’t hire one to balance a budget or legislate their morality on you (which is more like political correctness than morality to Democrats).
