ABC News correspondent Bob Woodruff has obtained a letter that an oil rig worker in Vietnam wrote to his employer claiming he saw Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 go down in flames.
Mr. Woodruff tweeted an image of the letter saying,

Would the Chinese deny complicity in shooting down the plane, irrespective of what air power was tasked? Consider, would the Soviets for weeks deny the Chernobyl disaster against all logic...yup they sure did.
This whole situation is becoming absurd.
2 days ago, there was a report “the Malaysian Military” tracked it on the Western side of Malaysia, not the Eastern side, where it was supposed to be. Today, the Malaysians’ reply is “sorry - human error. That’s not correct.”
3rd world cultures and government bureaucracies amuse me.
They have backed off the u-turn, Malaysian air force tracking claim. I thought it most likely went down en route.
Because of the certainty and clarity expressing the object was moving in line with his observation point, making no attempt to assert whether it was coming toward him or moving away from his location, I’d say that increases is credibility.
Why on Earth would China shoot down an airliner? They have a very sophisticated intel group. If they wanted somebody dead that person would have an allergic reaction or a heart attack. If they wanted the airliner to go down there would be an “obvious” cause like a failed engine or an electrical short. Why risk becoming the world’s pariah? Remember what the Soviet Union went through after shooting down Korean Airlines flight 007? (They thought it was an American recognizance plane called Cobra Ball. From the angle of their radar the two images crossed. When they separated the Soviets misidentified 007 as Cobra Ball. KAL 007 was off course and passed over a Soviet airbase. It was chased from the rear and the fighter, overextended, fired a missile at extreme range. He never had a visual and could not ID the target as a 747 instead of a 707. The missile flew up an engine and the plane fell several miles while breaking apart. It was a nightmare for the Soviets.)
He’s not a reliable witness since he doesn’t have an official government employee title.
I keep wondering if China shot the plane down thinking it was violating “their” airspace in the South China Sea.
I need to say that this guy, Mike McKay, has provided EVERYTHING needed to find this wreckage. What a perfect, scientific report. All the revelant and supporting data is clearly reported.
He must be an engineer on the rig.

I converted these to Decimal degrees if anybody wants to search the location on google maps.
I’m having trouble believing anything they say, too. This report gives a lot of detail about the siting; bearing, wind, Lat and Long. Everything except the actual time of the observation.
Whoa! That Facebook pix + the coordinates. Finally some real info.
If you want to see where this “sighting” was, you can go to this site and enter the lat & long for the point.

Lat. 08* 22’ 30.23” N, Long. 108*42’ 22.26” E
It's the green arrow.
There have been a number of passenger’s families who have called cell phones on that flight and had someone pick up the calls, and then click off.
I do not believe that can happen when a plane crashes.
If the Chinese had reason to believe the flight was high jacked and headed toward their main land do you think they would hesitate for a second to shoot it down? They kill people even babies all the time to serve the greater good. They are “good” like that.
