RAND PAUL ON TED CRUZ: "I'M NOT REAL EXCITED ABOUT HIM MISCHARACTERIZING MY VIEWS"
Breitbart ^ | 03/11/2014 | Jonathan Strong

Posted on 03/11/2014 8:02:04 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Sen. Rand Paul continued his aggressive brush back of comments from his usual ally Sen. Ted Cruz suggesting that Paul is positioned at the left, dovish flank of the GOP on foreign policy, telling Fox News host Sean Hannity Cruz was “mischaracterizing” his views.

“We always have been good friends. I'm not real excited about him mischaracterizing my views. I won't let that pass. I think that sometimes want to stand up and say hey, look at me, I'm the next Ronald Reagan. Well, almost all of us in the party are big fans of Ronald Reagan,” Paul said.

“I've always been a big fan of peace through strength. I think America should and has a responsibility around the world and really, virtually all of the opinions that have been coming from Republicans are somewhat the same on this – that Putin should be condemned, he should be isolated. I favor sanctions on Putin. So, for people to characterize that as somehow not being the Reagan position, I think they need to have a re-reading of Reagan, frankly,” Paul added.

WHAT? I “quote” you, he did “ultimately support open borders”, and then you reply “And I never said he did “ultimately support open borders”. “

Say what?

“His plan is never going to be implemented, never was”

Au contraire, mon amie. After he is elected, the president’s agenda is often implemented. Obamacare anyone?

“cover for the inevitable “racist” charge”

Say What? Are you now insinuating that he is a “racist”? Actually his position is the exact opposite. He understands Hispanics on this. They are against amnesty, but for a legitimate solution. His positions will garner him many Hispanic votes, just the opposite for the anti-amnesty crowd.

Rand Paul is a good guy with legitimate ideas for reform.
Don’t bother with what his enemies have to say about him, see what he actually says about his own beliefs.

I will find his real views on drugs. Here’s a link where he’s pandering to blacks saying they are arrested more than whites for drugs. Ground control to Rand Bleeding Heart, there are more black drug addicts than whites. Thats why they are arrested more.

Good grief.

Go back and read it again, in context. I said it allowed him to stand apart from the GOP WITHOUT having to “ultimately support open borders”. What part of WITHOUT is throwing you? Seriously, I’d like an answer.

No, his plan is never going to be implemented. It will be more like Obama’s plan to shut down Gitmo. A Republican President is not going to make immigration reform much of a priority, unless it’s to actually enforce the border.

Again, context is confusing you. The “racist” charge is used against Republicans who are opposed to the amnesty plan. Rand got to avoid that charge and still vote against the plan. That is pretty simple to follow. How in the world did you glean from that the charge that he is actually racist?

I like Senator Paul a great deal. I cannot agree with how he has proceeded on immigration.

“I’m an old-fashioned traditionalist. I believe in the historic and religious definition of marriage,” he says.

Rand is not Ron. No matter how much some of you want him to be.

Actually the tea party is more made up of social conservatives and the religious right, not social liberals and libertarians, and atheists are the most anti-tea party people out there.

Social liberals are overwhelmingly big government liberals, and social liberalism naturally leads to larger government, and more liberal voters desiring ever more.

I’ve been here considerably longer than either of you.

I’ve tried to argue facts with the other poster. His misuse of logic has all the hallmarks of your classic troll.

I will have no further conversation with him. If he posts to me, that is the only response he’ll get back. I have better things to waste my time on than trying to teach a pig to sing.

Would you say when you support someone for president that means you agree with his views? I would certainly think so, and if not, why support him? Well Rand Paul supported and work hard for his father for president. His father is for the legalization of drugs and has said he could care less who marries who, and he voted to allow sodomites in the US armed forces. The apple does not fall far from the tree.

Actually the tea party is more made up of social conservatives and the religious right, not social liberals and libertarians ...

My experience in attending several Tea Party rallies in Ohio (including events around the beginning of the movement) was that the crowds had two large contingents - social conservatives and libertarians (and I was surprised at the strength in numbers of the libertarians).

I personally think that it is time to join together to defeat the marxists. We should find a way to support each others' virtues the way the Left supports each others' vices.

These two guys are on the same team and could show the rest of us the way forward.

Which is meaningless.

Sorry, I've witnessed the interchanges between you too, and you suffer from some serious Myopia and projection. Look at yourself in the mirror.

I support Rand, Cruz, Palin, West, and Nugent as potential candidates for the next Presidential election.

Doesn’t mean I support them 100% across the board. Just that I think they are better than anyone else I’ve come across so far.

Rand is making his own trail in Congress. Others have tried to paint him with his kook Father’s shadow. Didn’t work then either.

Then why did you bring it up?

Your right. I did.

Let me rephrase what I said.

Ansel12 has shown himself to be a thoroughly and tireless conservative poster on FreeRepublic who routinely used logic, morality, and conservative principles in his posts.

I've seen many long-time freepers 10+ years in longevity lately get tossed primarily because they took a hard-line big "L" Libertarian approach and would not relent when challenged.

Longevity, in and of itself is meaningless with repect to Trollish behavior.

Does that help?

Spoken like a Mom.

When presented with facts contrary to their opinion, they continue to use pejoratives, ascribe motives not in evidence, lie, and use pretty much break every rule of arguing with reason I've seen since my days of dealing with robertpaulsen/Roscoe on the old RKBA threads.

So, your opinion of the other poster notwithstanding, my opinion of them remains equally as valid.
