The BBC Persian channel interviewed a friend of the two suspect passengers who were traveling with stolen passports. The friend says the two men wanted to migrate to Europe.
The two men travelling on stolen passports on the Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 that mysteriously disappeared on Saturday have been identified as Iranian nationals.
A BBC Persian report quotes an Iranian friend of one of the men, who said he hosted the pair in Kuala Lumpur after they arrived from Tehran in the days preceding their flight to Beijing.
The friend, who knew one of the men from his school days in Iran, said the men had bought the fake passports because they wanted to migrate to Europe.
The pair were travelling on passports belonging to Christian Kozel, an 30-year-old Austrian, and Luigi Maraldi, a 37-year-old Italian.

So it flew between 1000 and 2000 miles under the radar?
That’s possible, but getting a gun on a plane would be tough, even in Malaysia.
Unless.....3D printed plastic gun?
Did anyone expect the roommate to say “Yes, They were muslim terrorists intent on hijacking the airplane.”?
There ya go!
How did an Iranian go through security with an Austrian passport? Profiling minds want to know.
Generally, Iranians do not send their own to die in suicide bombs. They get others to do it for them, IMHO.
How does this story alleviate any suspicions?
Did anyone expect the roommate to say Yes, They were muslim terrorists intent on hijacking the airplane.?
True, but someone probably put the squeeze on this guy. This wasn’t him sitting in Starbucks with his favorite drink before him. Also, his story has to pan out. There has to be that Aunt in Germany or wherever, and the other pieces need to fit. If not, in a day we will hear that their stories don’t pan out.
What if the pilot and/or the co-pilot was in on the hijack?
I’ve already speculated that might be a possibility.

The same way an Iranian looking fellow travels on his American passport.
And in Kuala Lumpur, would not arouse suspicion.
I betcha when we find out in a few days what happened we’ll all go “Wow, didn’t think of that” — but maybe J Hydrazine thought of “that”.
The copilot was in his 20s with only a couple thousands hours.
And the captain had 18,000+ hours.
I hope I’m wrong, but I am correct what then?
On 9/11, blurry eyed at 6:05 am or whatever it was when the second plane hit, one of my first thoughts was, “terrorism. But where did the terrorists get an empty passenger plane?”
How naive I was then.
Occam’s razor says a captain with that long career wouldn’t screw it up. I don’t think he was any part of it.
The 2 pilots on that flight had moslem-sounding names.
If the flight was diverted in some Iranian plot, perhaps Obamatollah needed a jet to deliver his planned EMP of CONUS.
What about going down in history as being one of the Muzzies that takes down the Great Satan (aka America) and getting his 72 virgins?
No Muzzie worth his Koranic salt would pass that up.
