CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson has reached an agreement to resign from CBS News ahead of contract, bringing an end to months of hard-fought negotiations, sources familiar with her departure told POLITICO on Monday.
Attkisson, who has been with CBS News for two decades, had grown frustrated with what she saw as the network's liberal bias, an outsized influence by the network's corporate partners and a lack of dedication to investigative reporting, several sources said. She increasingly felt like her work was no longer supported and that it was a struggle to get her packages on television.
At the same time, Attkisson's own reporting on the Obama administration, which some staffers characterized as agenda-driven, had led network executives to doubt the impartiality of her reporting. She is currently at work on a book -- tentatively titled "Stonewalled: One Reporter's Fight for Truth in Obama's Washington" -- which addresses the challenges of reporting critically on the Obama administration.
Feeling increasingly stymied and marginalized at the network, Attkisson began talking to CBS News President David Rhodes as early as last April about getting out of her contract. Those negotiations intensified in recent weeks, and her request was finally honored on Monday.
Reached by phone, Attkisson described her resignation as "amicable." She said she will now turn her attention to the book, which is being published by HarperCollins (and not by Simon & Schuster, a division of CBS Corporation.) She declined to comment further.
Sonya McNair, the senior vice president for communications for CBS News, said in a statement: CBS News veteran Sharyl Attkisson is leaving the news division to pursue other endeavors. We appreciate her many contributions and we wish her well.
But Attkisson had become a polarizing figure at the network, sources there said...

Maybe she prefers an organization where she can report the (upcoming) Arpaio revelations about Obamatollah......
....without having the lives of her family threatened by the Marxists/Islamists that control the US government.
Then she will have to go to RussiaToday, or Al Jazeera.
That’s very true.
You don’t find a lot of people willing to do that..
The Left is on the move. They want it all and they want it now.
She was the only reporter there actually doing her job, which explains why she was persona non grata with the suits.
Good news, she’s a very good investigative reporter, too good for cBS.
Hopefully she’ll go on to FOX.
But, but she doesn’t come from the special, secret breeding farm Roger Ailes maintains on a clandestine island in the South Pacific for Fox News babes, as reported by Rush.

I check CBS.com headlines daily. The dearth of coverage over the calamity of Obamacare is appalling.
There is no “news” anymore. There’s only the liberal narrative.
She wanted out of her contract because CBS News has a political agenda and she wanted no part of it. Good for her.
She won two Emmys for her reporting which included, not only Benghazi, but Republican fundraising.
Her marketability as a reporter may be peaking now. I believe she is making a great career move. I wish her well.
Maybe her new employer can protect her form this happening

Somebody posted a abused wife Sally Sweetlies graphic, bruises, black eye, missing tooth.
If anyone knows the URL, I’d like it.
Speaking of seeing, she’s not bad looking for her age (50s). In the Nineties, she was downright pretty on the Sunday night newscast.
sooo
ya think obammy or his minions might offer her a job to shut her up??
Liberals are repelled by truth.
Now she can dump all her unwanted news where it will be reported. I cannot wait to find out what CBS rejected from this great reporter.
Really!!!
They are here trust me i talked to rush about his recovery by frrep mail
Great News! I am so glad she's broken free of that fever swamp of leftist bilge called CBS.
Can't wait 'til her book comes out!
