The USA will still want access to the Ports of LA and San Diego when the locals declare that they would rather not be part of the USA but would rather unite with their brothers to the South. How will we manage that?

Nope. Kind of scary actually since he is a US Senator saying this for the whole world to see. It may have been meant to be funny but only for those who understand American humor, Putin likely does not. “I just hope we don’t lose Alaska” probably means something different to the Putins of the world.
Just a thought, but if Obama wanted to outdo Carter, who paid the Panamanians to take our canal, donating Alaska to Russia would be just the thing!
The scary thing is the Obozo would do absolutely nothing if Russia did invade Alaska.
The Russians have said, on the record, that they want it back. That was years ago, but they've never, to my knowledge, taken back that statement.
Now someone will prove me wrong, and I'll be relieved at least.
