I remember when SNL first came on. Really ticked me off because the station it was on pushed back The Late Show movies. And on Saturday nights they would rotate the movies of Laurel and Hardy, W.C. Fields, Abbot and Costello and the Marx Brothers.
SNL was no match for that. No matter how many times you saw the old movies.

It did me as well. In 1975, the local station, WSMV ran "Creature Features" showing old horror B-movies with the the host, "Sir Cecil Creep"(image a cross between The Hunchback of Notre Dame and Bud Abbot)who had a few funny running gags between commercial breaks.
Made the twelve year old me sooo mad!!!
